It would be the decision of the trustees. However, the nature of the FLPF is such that there can be no more than 11 members. There isn't therefore a lot of difference between the members and the trustees. This is a pension fund for owners and directors of Flamingo Land who are by and large members of the Gibb family. I suspect that if Gordon Gibb whether as a member or a trustee, chose to sell VP, at the right price, the deal would go through.

When the time is right, and with the right owner/investors I would favour buying back Valley Parade, then bringing the stadium back up to date and even developing it. A new stand linking the main stand with the Midland Road stand (although the road behind A block is an issue). Certainly a new stand at the Bradford End and even a second tier on the Midland Road stand, there are options, they just require cash investment and the will to do it.
In the past various people have said that the location is problem, I don't see it that way. Football Special buses could be introduced from the Interchange/City Center along Maningham Lane or Midland Road. We have a railway running alongside that connects us with the Aire and Wharfe Valley and also L***s and beyond. Even if a small halt wasn't built outside the ground a walkway from Forster Square Station could be put down. A pedestrian bridge across the railway from outside the ground linking us with Valley Road is long overdue.
25,000 is ample at the moment but even in the Championship (I haven't had a drink yet, honest) that probably wouldn't be enough, especially with away demand. A capacity of 30,000/32,000 would be enough and is doable, like I said with the cash and will to do it. Even Geoffrey Richmand BEFORE his brainstorm was talking about a capacity of 36,000.

Nothing is ever an impossibility but I'd say in my lifetime we'll never see any more redevelopment in terms of adding to the capacity.

Personally, I don’t want to see City move away from Valley Parade. Its our home, an is a part of the club’s identity.

I don’t want to see Odsal being touted as an alternative option, all due respect to the bulls but the stadium is a shithole an is not capable of serving football games.

Hypothetically speaking, if City were to get into the championship, id see us selling out most games

With the right investor, Valley Parade can be upgraded. The most logical solution is filling the corner between the midland rd stand and the kop, or/and upgrading midland to a 2-tier stand. The real puzzle would be what you do with the TL Dallas stand because its an eyesore an a shit stand

There were plans drawn up in the 80s for a two tiered stand on midland road.

The vast majority of the (mostly white) fanbase already live miles from Valley Parade and either drive in or travel by bus or train for City matches.
In what way is that likely to change to become more of a problem in the next 20-30 years?

I don’t know about that suggestion that a large proportion walk in from surrounding areas because they live there.

IMO they walk in because they’ve parked elsewhere, because already they don’t live in Manningham.

Others walk from the two train stations because, again, they already live outside of the centre and are commuting in.

Makes sense if youre developing Anfield or the like where you'll be able to not only recoup your.investment but actually make a profit. That ain't gonna happen with the prohibited costs of any future development at Valley Parade, unless it was specifically aimed at corporate facilities. And even then it would take a generation just to break even.
The size of our stadium will suffice for our needs for the next 20 years

no time for the Bulls yet again they are after hand outs ............ they in the early 2000s should have done something about Odsal but they didn’t they blew it elsewhere
Imagine getting paid to play at Valley parade while Odsal was being redeveloped????
Imagine then getting handed Odsal back with millions thrown into the situation and where did all that money go ???
Seriously I’ve no time for them they leeched of the council for decades while the same council sat back and did nothing for us after the Richmond era

You'd have thought a Sports Lawyer would have known how the club he was running stood with regards Lestyn Harris registration, as you say the start of the end for the Bulls such a shame.

Re the bulls , they dont own the ground Bradford council does

Most other clubs sold the old grounds to housing and with council / outside help built better stadiums elsewhere

The bulls only had the lease of odsal for peppercorn rent , they sold that to the RFL to help clear depts ... probably the final nail in the Bulls coffin that masterstroke

I'd venture to say that most clubs fans are actively looking to leave their historic stadium. Give fans a modern, state of the stadium amd vibrant matchday experience and people soon move on. And newer generations have little to no attachment to VP.

Everything about this city is in decline, shrouded in incompetence

Having followed NFL and been a stadium geek for many years, the way that stadiums are funded in the US is completely different to over here. Just take the 49ers newish stadium and how it was built where it was due to the local authority area putting up the best deal even though the stadium is poorly designed and in an area with no public transport links.

Let’s be honest you could swallow that in Odsal in half an hour. They really need to use it as a landfill, which would benefit Bradford for 50 years in landfill fees. That could be invested sensibly but we are back with the age old question.. BCFC is a private venture. Why should the tax payers fund a stadium that will see little use and return in rent ? Plus it’s too far away from the centre making it beyond walking distance for most City fans .

I rarely see bigger shit holes than Bradford. Not saying they don't exist; I know they do. But this city IS a shit hole. Continual decline on every level.
