I think we have a coach boxed off and he’s behind these signings but can’t join until 1st July for legal reasons.

I’m actually starting to get optimistic about next season.

 

It is definitely interesting watching a new squad get built without a coach, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

I would have thought any incoming coach/manager would be a bit miffed to not be having a say at this crucial rebuilding stage, but maybe things are afoot.

We are not getting wind of any of these signing before they're happening - even though negotiations are clerarly going on - so maybe we have been a lot nearer to signing a new coach than we realise. Maybe they're already in the wings giving a nod and a wink to each of these acquisitions.

 

Can you imagine the melt down if we have to wait nearly another 3 weeks before an announcement is made!

 

Edin is going to give this new bloke a bunch of screwdrivers and then ask him to wrench a nut off.

 

Totally agree. I have a feeling whoever is coming in is absolutely aligned on this weeks signings at least and is already planning for the forthcoming season.

Ironically, I’m not concerned about the process of this new Head Coach recruitment. It hasn’t impacted our recruitment (that we’re aware of) and therefore it seems the club are very much focussed on the job in hand for the new season.

What’s also clear is, that we as fans, don’t have a scooby what’s going on, and I kind of like it!

 

No worries, I reckon we'll definitely have a new coach before England win the World Cup.

Interesting to see how it will affect the players' mentality signing for the club rather than the manager (as is often the case, at least at this level.)

 

Sorry forgot we finished 11th last season.

From what I'm told it's almost certain that Doyle will be staying.. His family have just had a hell of a lot to deal with in recent weeks which I won't go into, none of which is football related and he's just taking some time out to spend with his family. Once back from his holiday I expect everything will be sorted.

 

Aye. Six days walking the full route from bowness on solway to wallsend. 86 mile leisurely stroll. If all goes well on the last day we’ll carry on to tynemouth

 

Who needs a manager anyway? Just send the team out on to the pitch and tell them to adlib.

 

You are all so negative. The way you are all talking we are relegated already . It would be great for the supporters to get behind the team.

 

Squad is way off yet. Still think we need 6 or 7 more new lads in.

Hope we don’t stop at 5 and hope for some loans as that would leave us way short on quality and vital cover

Well Doyle's wife Rebecca has been tweeting about all the issues faced by the family, so she seems happy enough to share their problems. Sometimes doing that helps.
