New squad and no manager

Patience and welcome back.

 

Back in training at the end of the month, I wonder who will be organising the squad, looks like Greg atm.

 

It is definitely interesting watching a new squad get built without a coach, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

I would have thought any incoming coach/manager would be a bit miffed to not be having a say at this crucial rebuilding stage, but maybe things are afoot.

We are not getting wind of any of these signing before they're happening - even though negotiations are clerarly going on - so maybe we have been a lot nearer to signing a new coach than we realise. Maybe they're already in the wings giving a nod and a wink to each of these acquisitions.

 

No worries, I reckon we'll definitely have a new coach before England win the World Cup.

Interesting to see how it will affect the players' mentality signing for the club rather than the manager (as is often the case, at least at this level.)

 

That’s because the new coach is already in the building

 

No squad... apart from the 4 centre halves, 3 full backs, 4 midfielders, 2 wingers and 6 forwards

 

I think we have a coach boxed off and he’s behind these signings but can’t join until 1st July for legal reasons.

I’m actually starting to get optimistic about next season.

 

Can you imagine the melt down if we have to wait nearly another 3 weeks before an announcement is made!

What legal reasons? Do you mean for a manager who's currently in work?

 

If they’re under contract until the 30th June then to announce them now could require compensation to be paid. 30th June being the date players’, and presumably managers’, contracts usually run to.

 

I was thinking something along those lines tbh don't think it's legal reasons, it could be a coach is under contract till July 1st at a previous job and if we appoint before then edin would have to pay a compensation fee hmm it just sounds right for edin

Very good point. That could be why there's total silence as it is already a done deal bar the legal formalities.

 

If the current club is going to be that petty they would also be damanding compensation if they find out he has been helping pick players for us whilst under contract there

 

Now that's the kind nudge and a wink that could put a player off coming ;-)
