That's how I see it. The wishy washy subject line of bradford are a bigger club is incongruous, to the fact that Morecambe wilbe playing in a higher league.
If Adams 'fails' to keep Morecambe up, he is out of contract at the end of next season and suitors will be around to snap him up (IMO).

Serious question @JonButterfield@JonButterfield... Keep Morecambe up in L1 or get Bradford promoted in L2, which (or both) do you see as we stand, as the biggest achievement from Adams point of view?

Isn't Adams the one that doesn't think you should stay long, though?

Maybe he just wants one more bumper year from them :joy:

100% keeping morecambe up. On a par with us staying up in the Premier league first season

Taking away the Bradford City allegiances, then why not pit yourself for the greater challenge, that being Morecambe (in your eyes). Achieve that and his stock will be greater looking forward...

Probably keep Morecambe up? I think people will expect Bradford City to go up, as they do most seasons, without really looking closely at the situation. Whereas, by the same token, many will be writing Morecambe off if they're not specifically in-the-know Morecambe fans.

It's funny how it works, because people will probably put money on Morecambe going down without knowing a single player!

His quotes come in handy in our current situation “one million percent come in handy”

listen to his last interview vs Oldham he completely lost the plot.

“One milion percent, one million percent” lost the plot

So whilst neither a promotion at Bradford or keeping Morecambe up are easy options, is Adams potentially going for the 'easier' of the two options?

It makes me question his ambition and motives. Or am I just seeing through rose tinted glasses?

I'm sure he'd be a good appointment for City but the longer this goes on it's only natural for doubts to enter his mind about leaving a club where he's so highly thought of. It may hinge on his relationship with Morecambe's owner.

Sometimes, it's a case of "better the devil you know".

    It's probably all about promotions.

Promotions stay on your record, and managers that collect them are virtually guaranteed employment.

Adams has four already, adding a fifth with Bradford is more meaningful to his CV at a glance.

He might even feel we have the potential for two promotions in quick succession, at which point no doubt he'd leave us again if we were likely to get relegated from the Championship.

    What do you reckon?

So you define "bigger" based on your league status and not the fan base for example?

Fair retort. Logic stacks up too. A CV would look good with 5 for the record, in what, 15 years of club management.

Maybe my negative overtures are ingrained regarding BCFC and for that I'm characterising Adams...

I think from my view point here, where I am considering Adams, the fanbase is not the consideration. I am looking purely at success based on a theoretical situation in the 21/22 season.

My God. We're still the "bigger club"? I'm embarrassed everytime I see people justifying this and that. Surely we're a "little club", because we went from top division to bottom division to bottom in a rapid rate of time, throwing in mutliple managers and chairmen and fans on the way down? People saying Morecambe aren't as "big" as us, so therefore its a no brainer he joins us. Probably the same people who expected us to beat Harrogate twice this season. Probably the same people who said , "its just a run out" when we lost to them 5 odd nil in a friendly a couple of seasons ago.

I don't think we've been a big club since we beat everything in front of us to get promoted to the Premiership. Ever since then we've be spectacularly disappointing. We are not a BIG club. We're a perennial should be bigger club.

Everyone here forgetting Morecambe won’t have a L1 budget... pretty sure they had one of the lowest in L2!! o_O

people actually acting like Morecambe would be competitive in L1 come on!
Bet anyone on here CMG stockon and maybe even songoo get sold on in summer. Stop putting city down constantly. Its a worthwhile challenge to come to city for him. Hes been sacked in L1 before and im sure he doesnt want that to happen again.

Since I've been watching football, the old Premier League, Div 1, 2 and 3 days, I'd say this is about right.

Having seen a video of him, I'd say he is ambitious and sees us, just like Morecambe as a stepping stone. No one has mentioned it but is it possible that his contract includes a clause that will allow him a move. If it does, a contract with us will certainly include the same. Charlie Wyke did it, why not a manager? If it is so, I have no objection as long as he starts us progressing.

Except apparently he was first interviewed in November and must have come to some arrangement before Morecambe was promoted

Add Morecambe to that list, on a £1m playing budget. You're wanting Rupp to throw money towards the playing budget, that ain't going to happen. If you want that you better go find us an Arab, Far Easten, Indian....buyer who will pump money in. If we are 3rd/4th come January Rupp would probably fund the final push but no more than that.

Definitely no need for foreign ownership at this level.

You don't even need to pump money in, let's be real about it.

A top six wage budget should be enough without paying a single transfer fee.
