Has to be ….regs for the partially sighted, and old duffers like me. Admittedly sometimes it was hard to read them over stripes and hoops.

I'd put it third to Edin's "fighting kit" and the all claret one we had around 2009. All pretty grim. Having said that I haven't seen the new one in person yet.... might like it more when I see it first hand.... We shall see.

Meant to be a miles better kit than the shocking home one and last years away.

    Look forward to seeing it.

Absolutely. I hate this ruling, about having to have a plain panel on the back, with a passion. It makes any variety of striped or hooped shirt look like a dog's breakfast. One of the big reasons our home shirt last season looked so good was because it had the stripes right round the back of the shirt, in the traditional manner. Sadly, that's the last time we'll ever see a proper striped City shirt unless the ruling is reversed, which I doubt it will be.

I've always been a strong believer that we should wear stripes, as it's become a big part of our identity. But I'm now starting to wonder whether we should move to plainer claret and amber shirts because we can no longer do the striped look justice.

No way. That checkerboard abomination from a few years back was far worse. And the hideous rugby league-looking effort that we got relegated in. I don't love the hoops, but we've had much worse.

Its the white collar than ruins it for me. Far too old school Rugby. I've seen similar (and better) on Cotton Traders

Why do you hate making football accessible to colour blind people with a passion?

Grimsby’s new kit is striped as usual but still has a striped back?

It won’t be green as that’s the colour of the training wear. Read somewhere (can’t recall where) that the away shirt is cream(?) with claret shorts and claret socks.

I presume we'll be wearing the away kit on Saturday...seeing as we're away.
Can't be having green, as that's the other Bradford innit. I'm thinking an all white/cream strip, with claret or amber collars and cuffs would look nice.

I know why it's being done. But I think it completely ruins traditional club colours. Clubs like Newcastle, both Sheffield clubs, Notts County, QPR etc have had their striped or hooped shirts for 100+ years.
Is spectators seeing shirt numbers clearly really so important that it butchers the integrity of a club's traditional home shirt identity?

I think clubs are only allowed plain shorts. Perhaps having larger numbers on the shorts could provide clarity as to the identity of the player, as well as numbers on the back of the shirt? It could help to retain full stripes on the shirt.

So what you are saying is you don't care about people who are colour blind. Football likes to say it's inclusive but it neglects people who are colour blind and it's about time something is done about it. Just because something is tradition at one time doesn't mean it should stay

You obviously think that being able to clearly see numbers on the back of shirts is a big deal. I don't. I'm not colour blind, but nor do I take much notice of shirt numbers. I don't need shirt numbers to recognise our players and TBH I don't take that much notice of individual opposition players because I'm always concentrating on what ours are doing. I'm all for equality and inclusion, but this seems like throwing out the baby with the bathwater for a minor issue.

I just think it's a real shame that a number of clubs who've normally worn smart striped or hooped shirts now have to wreck the visual integrity of their traditional home strip.

I'm very glad I bought last year's home shirt to wear for the foreseeable future, because I certainly won't be buying any future striped shirts all the while they've got an ugly blank patch on the back of them, which looks even more ridiculous if you don't have a number on it.
