Probably to try help O’Donnell cut out the mistakes, which may hopefully save us a few points between now and May.

Wise move IMHO.

 

Bowyer is on a short term deal (for whatever the reason), so why on earth would we give a 2 year contract to a goal keeping coach? If Bowyer was to leave in the summer and we had to get yet another new manager, they might not want Taylor as part of their team so we would be left to pay compo. I'm not particularly happy about the fact we only have Bowyer on a deal until the end of the season but if that's the case, it makes perfect sense to me that anyone he brings in as part of his team should be on the same contract - at this stage.

 

Maybe the club's planning for new ownership in the summer and wants to minimise the number of contracts that will be Inherited....

It’s about time we got specialist coaches in. I think with Andy Todd we have a defensive specialist one.

O’Donnells form dipped during the time there was no specified coach to support him. Coincidental perhaps, but likely to have an impact. No matter what industry you work in, with no coach often comes a dip in performance.

Getting someone in to support a good keeper we have in O’Donnell, is a good and necessary move. Getting in someone of Taylor’s level, with his experience both as a player and as a coach, on paper is a very good appointment.

Wish this had all happened 4 weeks ago. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing!

You'd have to talk to some of the forum members on here about that, because pre-January some were pointing out the lack of a queue of future City owners

Not necessarily, it could just mean they are pulling out all the stops they can to stop us going down as L2 would mean even worse finances. He'll be here for, what, two and a half months...
