New Coach - Michael Collins

I said we would be alright because we were playing better and I thought we would put things right in January . Nowhere did I say Collins was a good appointment

 

There are also posts where you defend the appointment, comparing it to when we appointed Chris Kamara and Paul Jewell! @Park bantam

 

Read them I said the appointment was a big disappointment but he had been appointed and he needed to be given a chance and rightly I pointed out that Jewell and Kamara were appointed with no experience.

 

The funny part is some were saying give the new guys a chance, which I didn't see many disagreeing with at the time, most voiced their concerns but most were prepared to see what Collins & Co could bring to the table.
The posters I found amusing were the ones who thought it would just be a matter of employing someone else if things didn't go to plan, yet they had witnessed the arrival of Simon Grayson and how difficult he found it, to to get anything from the squad.
IMO the vast amount of fans within this thread were far more concerned what would happen if Collins & Co couldn't get the team playing after a good amount of games under their belt, one thing in Rahic favour he saw the errors of his ways sooner than later and made the decision to get rid, but never realised the damage that he'd done not only with an unbalanced squad but the discord with the fans and as the season went on this juggernaut kept gaining speed.

 

Gaining speed is an understatement @Bronco we now hold the land speed record.

 

Don't hold out too much hope for tomorrow at Coventry, I think they are the best attacking side I've seen at Valley Parade this season and the snippet against Sunderland they look good going forward .

 

The only thing we have on our side is that they might be pre occupied with the off field goings on but if they aren't we will be in league 2 by 5 pm .......... But don't worry everything is fine.. Wonder where I've heard that before...

What contributed to our demise this season was the change in transfer rules, We chose two bad managers but also was the fact that the club had its hands tied by not been able to recruit loans outside the transfer period as in previous seasons which hampered any manager to improve the squad, Having said that Hopkin managed one of the worst January transfer periods bordering on incompetence that wasted the most valuable chance to save us.
