Fair play to Killa. Would have loved to have been next to him though when he heard the news.
Collins knows he will have to earn their respect as many others would do when they are not proven. The players will be eagerly waiting to see what he has to offer and hope he likes them.

Last I thought I'd heard is we'd passed 15k and were trundling towards 16k?

 

I know someone was asking abour refunds earlier but I didn't realise they had processed over 3k today

 

I've had a bit of time to calm down now and Collins has my full backing and support, it isn't his fault that we are in this predicament.

Edin won't change his ways and won't sell up, we're stuck with him. I just hope for his sake this appointment works out otherwise his position will become untenable and the last thing we want is to become another Blackpool or Leyton orient.

I hope this works out but unfortunately can only see it ending in tears.

 

Well he's only gone and done it all in now if it doesn't work this could hurt the club for a long time. I don't know anything about Collins and I don't want to be disrespectful but this screams that they couldn't get who they wanted in and have appointed him so Edin can maintain control I fear for Collins to be honest. If it was an assistant who had served his apprenticeship under a top manager like Howe has it'd be easy to get behind but he's not. He hasn't had a particularly glittering playing career, has no real experience and achieved nothing with the U18. David Hockady appointment for me.

At the end of the day there is only one group of people who really need to buy into this and that's the players. If they do Collins stands a chance because the performances will be there and the fans will get on board, if not it'll be a long season until Collins is sacked. I hope Rahic has thought about how he will be viewed by the players.

Well intentioned as Edin may be I feel this could be his undoing.

 

I bet collins wasn't brought in for multiple interviews either, the guys they wanted would not come so into panic mode went our edin.

Last figure i heard was 12500 which is 7000 down on last season.

At least he can retire and do one if it goes bad. We as supporters are stuck with them till the puppet master sacks them .

in comes a young coach with limited experience but with fresh ideas, a supposedly company yes man, brought in from the youth team because the job was seen as a poisoned chalice that nobody wanted. previous coaches / managers were very experienced at higher levels (some) with trophies in the bag with other teams - some previous internationals as players, one even a fan favourite, a 'legend', but none of them lead the team to glory and leave with the team in the same position or worse than it was when he joined. previous coaches all walked away / were relieved of their duties not fulfilling the task they had been given.

not too dissimilar to gareth southgate getting the england job - there was uproar and jokes made at the time, saying there was no ambition and the england team would be ridiculed and that the country is a joke.

but personally, if we end up with a team of exciting youngsters blended with needed experience, playing with freedom and flair, pace and confidence playing at valley parade i'll be happy with that.

let's give it a go - also, can't wait for rahic and collins', keegan style "i'd love it..." rant when we're going for promotion in april (ok. that might be a bit optimistic).

I’m still flabbergasted at the whole situation we’ve found ourselves in. No offence to Collins and good luck, but how must he feel. His first job as head coach and I bet he feels like shit.

 

He didn't look to happy on look north 2 mins ago.

 

No not really this is what he said

“We had an open discussion with Edin and he is very good with his staff in being very open and honest. He put it to us and we had a conversation and he said he had done a lot of due diligence about various people and ourselves and he felt that there was a real opportunity to put something together to take the club forward and asked what our thoughts were. “There was no pressure and saying: ‘this is what is happening, you are all jumping into these roles.’ He gave us plenty of time to sit down between us.”
