this is nothing short of an absolute disgrace. its taken 7 weeks for THIS?! 3 people already at the club?! and amazingly, they havent even picked the best contender out of the three of them nevermind anyone else!

proof - if it were needed - that Edin is absolutely in control of all team affairs - he has, basically, just appointed himself in all but name.

enough is enough. somethings got to be done. he is destroying the club.

 

Yes I think this option will have been high on his preferred list. I think what is more interesting is why other options were discounted , were there others who chose not to pursue the vacancy and why they took so long. MC may turn out to be a success but why does it appear Mr Mason did not agree? Has cost been another factor - was this the cheapest option? Mr Rahic allegedly has got himself a not so good reputation within football circles. While it is not always the right thing to be popular - you should not burn bridges - hopefully it will not harm City's chances of staying in Div1.

 

I remember a couple of weeks ago and after a couple of interviews robbie stockdale was announced on sky news and betting suspended on skybet.

Collins over Stockdale?- hmmm, wonder what happened there?

looks like I was right all along about Edin Rahic - but I am in no way happy to be saying that.

 

In 1974 East Stirling appointed a 32 year old part time manager with zero coaching experience and paid him £40 a week.
He turned out pretty well

 

Definitely a play on words with the “no other interviewees have been offered a contact” I would imagine there has been a few who went into an interview and decided it it wasn’t for them before contract negations took place.
It’s going to be a tough old season I recon.

 

My hands are firmly glued together. No happy clapping this morning. Who cares about a firm connection to the club. That brings emotion into decision making, when they should be clinical

 

And he turned Rahic down I assume. Right or wrong, our new approach is not going down well with those highly rated coaches that we would have made overtures to.

 

Every appointment is risky. Appointing Grayson or PP under these owners would be risky because they can't work in this environment so appointing coaches who can work within the owners vision has got to be better?

 

Has anyone seen the "Out of Contract" documentary on Sky. Collins features.

 

Money,that's all this is about.Rahic is a gambler in a bookies with his last tenner and he puts it all on a 100-1 outsider.

He pretends to be looking for an experienced manager but can't afford one so appoints a cheap option who may or may not be a success.

Fans unhappy but he won't come clean on the situation in my view and he is now in a very precarious position.A 3year contract? If we struggle and look like being relegated he can sack Collins as paying up his contract won't be much I suspect.

The Beeb site quotes Rahic as saying all 3 coaching staff have been working for "weeks" recruiting players.Why were we signing players without a coach? There's your answer.

Who knows,this may turn out a master stroke albeit lucky,but in any event we fans have to hope that the players respond to Collins and give him everything,if that happens we may exit this moment of despair and make some progress.If not where will the next coach come from and how will we afford him?

 

Then he must be happy playing assistant to someone who is not fit to lace his boots

How many times across the game have such appointments played out. I'm still all for what they are doing in other areas but would have thought gambles like these could have come later.

We have a couple of examples and the Liverpool 'boot room' comes to mind, any stattos out there can think of successful transitions?

Why don’t you start a new thread maybe titled “Protest against Edin” and see how that goes.

People are very good for talking and spouting on here, but for actual action I doubt it very much.

 

Losing Grayson?
Ive not been as bored watching BCAFC in all my life as i was when watching his style.
A few good results toward the end of the season polished the shit that was the 3 months before.

 

Have to agree with this. He will be cheap, likely to do all Edin says but until we know better, he might turn out to be an inspired appointment. It looks like his his name on the door though. Hope he can spell Saddam.
