New Coach - Michael Collins

What makes you think he is telling the truth?

We have had nearly 2 months of virtual silence whilst so called recruitment has been going on. I think this has been his dream team from the oft. He knows all of them, and he can trust them to let him be driving force on team selection, style of football etc. No I don’t have any evidence, but I do have a very strong hunch.

 

Could be too late.

Form an option before something happens.

 

Be fair, he's played 300 times at league one and championship level. This appointment is similar to appointing Vince as player manager.

That's not the point. He believes this appointment is not a gamble yet hiring an experienced manager/coach would be. What on earth is he smoking?

becomes assistant to a coach with no experience and has only coached at under 18 level

Whats to say Edin turned down applicants in the same number as applicants turned us down?

I don't know but lets see where we are after some league games and then pass an informed judgement on what we see on the pitch.

 

If this was his dream team from the off he would have announced them a few days after Grayson's departure. My theory is that we've been trying to hire coaches of a higher calibre, failed miserably and this is what we are left with. A poor appointment maybe, but I don't think he was lying- just failed to achieve what he set out to do.

I thought that too, why not Abbo as head coach and Collins assisting him ? Probably to do with Abbp's illness.

 

Considering he's given himself 2 of those titles and has given the chief scout a promotion it's highly likely.

 

Greg is on record saying he doesn't want to be a head coach/manager again.

 

When Dolan was being considered I wrote to the club and begged them not to appoint him. I know very little about Michael Collins I and nobody else know his character and whether he is a good motivator or not. In short it could be a disaster or he could do well. Initially attracting players is going to be a challenge but if we can bring some more decent players in we could do well give him a chance
