New club crest

The layout is nice, but the bantam looks as though it should have Bernie Clifton riding on its back!

 

Opinions are like arsehole we all have one. That concept in my opinion is awful.
For example the Juventus badge, some 'designer' will have been paid a bucket load to redesign their corporate brand only to come up with what can only be described as two letter Js.

Those are pretty bad. But not a patch on this abomination from the 70s.

My initial thoughts on our crest were that it's a bit dated and could probably do with being updated but can't say I was particularly bothered either way. However, you've sold me on a new badge, as a first draft that's great. I'd quibble about the shape of the bantam but it's easy to see how something like that not only gives you a decent badge but also allows you to take the stylised bantam silhouette out of the badge and use it as a logo in it's own right.

 

Liverpool have gone back to the traditional badge the last few years and it looks way better, no silly crest or circle which seems to be theania these days.

 

City have managed to make it work/fit on every graphic they have used for the past 25 years . That concept you posted is awful .

 

It's interesting that we experimented for a couple of seasons having the badge inside a shield. The Premiership shirt being the most notable example, and then dropped a few seasons later. I vaguely, but can't really remember clearly, the changeover from the boars head, to the current badge in 1991. Something about going back to our heritage roots or something like that. Can't remember the fans being involved or questioned about it.

 

That's because back in the day, we (as a club) concentrated on having a successful team rather than an epic badge and took a view that if we invested in the team, the supporters wouldn't care what the badge looked like.

These days we have to settle for a crap team but the best badge possible.

 

The issue with rebranding is that ultimately it costs. Where is the funding to pay for it coming from, has it or will it impact on squad budget? If it costs £100k for a rebrand is that £100k more we could have had for players? That then does have a direct impact on our aspirations for promotion.
