New CEO?

Quite worrying going into a crucial period now with big fixtures in the FA cup (vital income) and the January window to improve our paper thin squad. If it’s with an inexperienced CEO who is new to the negotiating table, are we going to get what we want? Hmmm. Big challenge. We still need 50 points on the board as pessimistic as that sounds to ensure we are a league club when true fan numbers can return

Let’s say for arguments sake Ryan is appointed and results / performances continue as they are. Will he have the bottle to sack McCall and who would he replace him with, bearing in mind he has no previous experience in the role. I doubt he’s got a book of contacts so his 1st appointment will be more guess work than anything. Just at a time when the club is slipping in the wrong direction...this is such a crucial appointment.

 

I don’t think it is pessimistic.Get this appointment wrong and refuse to change the club ethos and we are only going one way.I noticed today that there are 11 teams in the National league who we have played in the not too distant past.I presume they all thought they were too big to go down.

 

In that respect if he doesn’t know he might complete a full interview process for the new job? Might not be a bad thing?

 

If it is Ryan Sparks, he may just be a "placeholder" while new owners complete negotiations

 

But who’s going to advise him...Rhodes?

The standard of football is deplorable people finding other things to do with their time and abiding by Covid rules will put many off we were very lucky to sell 9000 this time but a good percentage won't renew
6000 season tickets @150.00 won't keep us going especially if we get our annual new year downturn in form. It's going to be squeaky bum time between now and the end of the season regardless of who and I doubt any signings are made in January I would take survival now and a "footbaling" CEO in place before the end of the year

 

Might be Sparks as an interim. But my money is on Dave Baldwin or James Mason. Or both working together. I'd be happy with the latter.

 

Move on from Mason. Stop being lazy.

Won't be Mason as he is in a job and we would have known if he had resigned or left.

 

I imagine he will have a panel to pick a new manager? Show Rupp what he thinks and make a call based on interviews?
He would have to live and die by that decision but that’s what a CEO does

 

And your thoughts on Baldwin mate?

 

It is worth pointing out that of the approx 9,200 City sold this time out at least 1,000 will have been for kids and so not £150 plus a couple of hundred for Flexicards.
A smart CEO will have to factor in a short term decline because of Covid and to get us up to a competitive budget will have to increase the ST's.
Maybe to £199 which might gift the club some funds to actually employ a scouting network for the north east/north west and north midlands.
Otherwise City wont even get to the salary cap and will trot out the well worn "cut our costs" line.
Need to bring in some fresh thinking and not more of the same in-house shambles.

 

Baldwin stayed in the game and knows his stuff. I would take him.

I don't like looking back but he progressed and is experienced. I wouldn't mind him as CEO.

Mason No! Sparks - JUST NO BLOODY NO!!!

 

Baldwin can't take take any football related jobs due to a clause in his contract its thought.
