Why is the Harrogate game always being moved. Didn't they come up with some bullshit excuse regarding the fire service on bonfire night last season to move that to 1pm.

There is no rivalry and getting tickets for the away game means you have to have attended every game since the second World War.

If anything there is more potential for disorder in August when we go to Morecambe with 2k City fans at the seaside on the piss.

 

Will they ? North Parade will open at 10am and be rammed by 11am. Its pointless.

 

How often have L666s fans come to our games to cause trouble in recent years, really?

West Yorkshire police have not moved Leeds opening game of the season at home to Cardiff to 1pm, that fixture has far more potential for trouble than us against Grimsby.

Police forces up and down the country have no problem policing 3pm kick offs at fixtures with much larger crowds than ours.

The issue is WY police are so undermanned and under funded.They won’t admit it but that’s the real reason.

 

Simply because I hate the dead time on Saturday mornings and 3pm kickoffs for away games eat into my Saturday nights out.
Prefer to go to game early and get back early.
Just my personal preference but obviously I understand why 1pm kick offs don’t work for some.

 

Precisely because you didn’t say why. Some comments need explanation on occasions, so we can understand your reasoning. It becomes simple then.

 

Why is Sunday a less risk than Saturday for trouble?. Is the beer weaker on Sunday, troublecausers at church?

I am contracted to work an average of 1 in 3 Saturday mornings until 1pm, so hoping non clash from a personal point of view. Fortunately the Grimsby home game doesn't, so hoping no more are announced

More to do with our fans than theirs, also with it being international week there's a chance Leeds fans who live close by will go and cause trouble

 

So Leeds fans and our chavs don't get out of bed until 2pm then, is that why it's moved back to 1pm.

Can't get my head around why they think there will be less trouble kicking off at 1pm as opposed to traditional 3pm.

If it doesn't work why is it a commonly used tactic by police? Most pubs apart from Wetherspoons open from 11am at the earliest so that's only 2 hours before kick off rather than 4 hours. More people will drink at 12pm for a 3pm game than 10am for a 1pm kick off

 

Same applies! 5 L1 and L2 games every weekend spread over Saturday lunch, Sunday lunch and Monday night.

 

Leeds vs Cardiff is 2:30 on a Sunday due to Sky. Sunday is a lesser risk day than Saturday It's not necessarily about the size of the crowd. We are probably the only club with at least 4 FA investigations hanging over us for crowd incidents plus incidents in the Carlisle match.

3pm kick offs are traditional yes but maybe it’s time for change / modernisation

 

There's only Bradford could think that's a good thing, I get the idiots bit but far more will be descent football fans who just want a drink and a bit of food before the game.
