Matty Foulds

Know Staunton and FCD both have longer contracts so there is still time for them to develop at the club, but if you throw Foulds into the mix I know which of the 3 I would most like to keep. He has an attitude that impresses and he looks to be making progress, unlike the other 2 at this stage

 

There’s logic behind the perception of it. When you are in the firing line and not performing, people use your mistakes as a reason to be dropped. If you are on the bench you aren’t making the mistakes, so there’s clamour for a recall.

Ollie Crankshaw was made out to be much better than he was when he was on the bench. We’ve had it all year between two bang average keepers.

the support for Staunton is justified though. He didn’t let anyone down last year - hence why scouts were watching him.

 

Foulds is 24 and bit older than the other two. He's had some time in Italy too. Maybe just a bit more experienced?

I'm not disputing what you are saying about Foulds attitude and progress. I would guess he's not on a lot wage wise either.
Get him on a two year deal and he can take over from Ridehalgh in 2023/24.

If only we had a DOF who could plan ahead.....

He can take over from Ridehalgh - now for me.

 

Same for me - and that is no criticism of Ridehalgh. Either player good enough to start.

Looks like we're adding a year extension in the clubs favour as standard. Sensible.
Maybe something Gent or Hughes has suggested. Can't remember us doing it before.

 

Good news this we are building a squad with a bit of Strength in depth and we are well covered at left back

Unless this is old footage he obviously agreed to sign before the pitch was ripped up... Drip feeding us so it may be that others have signed new contracts too

 

I get the impression Hughes really likes Ridehalgh, so I think it will be competition between those two for the left back berth next season.
