    Hughes said Walker had a good chance of being on the bench tomorrow, he has recovered from the injury, but was struck by the bug that went through the camp last week, all being well he will be fully fit by the end of Jan.

    Plot Twist - Matt Derbyshire is best friends with Colin Doyle. Never knew that. Despite Hughes knowing the player youd think Doyles relationship maybe helped it over the line.

    Cook hasnt done owt for a few games and we played on 26th, 29th and 1st.

    More than justified in him dropping to the bench.

    I doubt very much that money will be the determining factor in whether we can recruit that kind of player in the January window. It will be more a matter of whether somebody is available with the right experience.

    MH isn't going to openly say what his plans are but we know several players are out of contract at the end of the season. Some may have been told or worked out for themselves that they won't be getting another contract so there may be some movement in and out in January. Andy Cook has probably done enough to earn another contract but probably won't get one.
    As for Matt Derbyshire, I'm not particularly bothered how old he is or what wage he is on, I'm more interested in what he produces on the pitch.

    Im absolutely certain we will offer Cook a deal. Whether he signs it or not who knows.

    Ridehalgh, Songo, Hendrie, Angol will be off. Gilliead will be offered a deal. Not sure on Eisa. If he stays fit maybe. Doyle probably gets another year too.

    The more I think about this and the length of contract. I wonder whether we are thinking of a coaching role for him in the future. I believe this is the thinking behind Charlie Austin's signing for Swindon

    There is no guarantee to anything but Stockport do seem to target specific players that look like they would command a decent salary. like you i'd expect them to be up there at the end of the season.

    I too can see the club offering Cook a deal but have feeling he'll be looking for one last decent contract, one that isn't forthcoming from the club.
