I share your pain Tallinn, nearest i can get is cans of Boddingtons draught at a supermarket about 20 miles from here. So usually have to settle for Stella. Grolsch is no longer available near me and it looks like Stella is soon going to be brewed in St Louis, just crappy Bud with a premium price. ( They did same with Beck's a few years ago, disgusting stuff now).

 

Been in Carlisle today and had a pint of non description rubbish from the kirby Lonsdale brewery, six pints of Guinness two glasses of red and three pints of Boltmeker in the brown cow on our return.

 

Last time Ii was in the Brown Cow, I was wishing I looked non descript. My uncle told me we were lucky to get out unharmed.

 

Which bar is that Tallinn? Know Paphos quite well....

 

No beer whatsoever inside the ground today, pain in the a**e after an 8.5 hour journey down....

 

The Wooden Pub. Just on the harbour and a short stroll from our hotel (Annabelle). Craft beer pub, but the poor fella has gone from 12 taps to 3 due to lack of trade.

 

Excellent. Have seen it in the square by Pizza Express but never been in!! Used to get little toy cars for the boys from the shop next door before the bar was there!! Looked in the estate agents so many times.....The Annabelle's really nice I hear - used to sit in the bar opposite (Six Bells - now gone) years ago and watch the clientele coming and going...

 

Yes nice hotel. There's a "pub" opposite now called "The Nest" and another sports bar next to it. The latter was very busy for the Lions game on Saturday. Found an excellent craft beer place called "The Old Fishermans Shack". Literally thousands of beers. Sadly due to lack of trade, only opens a couple of days a week. Sad to see so many places empty and shut down. Loved our two weeks there, and hope tourism picks up and the town can crack on again (that said, I can only imagine "Bar Street" when it's packed and full of Brits. Shudder!).

 

Yes, it's a shame. Went not long after the financial crisis and loads of places had closed down and bar street (during the day anyway!!) resembled an old ghost Western town, could virtually see the tumbleweed...been going frequently since 1989 and got married out there. Used to visit the ex's family regularly, aunt and uncle live out there so used to get some good deals on apartments...

Seeing as it’s a special occasion, I’m going for this ridiculous drink.

 

It was left for me as a sample. I wouldn’t have bought it. Apparently contains 5kg of chillies in the brew. The mind boggles.

 

I dodged a bullet. My Mrs told me she wants to try this, and she’s out, so it remains in the fridge.
