Steve Evan's will have contacted Sparks. In his piece in the T&A Evans refers to Stefan and Ryan will decide. And we'll see where it goes. So maybe Evans until the end of the season, initially.

 

I'd be happy with that. Some would be aghast, but I think he'd build exactly the sort of side fans can relate to. And any initial furore would die down if things pick up on the field.

Yes I probably realise that but a few on here are rating his chances highly….meh!

We have zero chance of the play offs imho, however Sparks wouldn’t admit that because no one in his position ever would.

I prefer the long game to get the right man.

He runs the place as an accountant and only looking after his own pocket, definitely in the past anyway. His footballing decision making was woeful and almost done deliberately to save money when it was then too late to sign anyone (not in 2007 when Todd went I know) but certainly recently when the manager can’t demand players out of the window. But conveniently when season tickets we’re going on sale to keep the clubs accounts in the blank.

What happens this window? We sell Canavan and sack our “underperforming” manager out of the window and now we will be pushing season ticket sales.

 

My past company hired a former accountant as CEO, safe to say they weren’t popular and the customer suffered. Austerity is never the way to run a business(or country) imo and only leads to a lack of development and progression. Rhodes may as well have been David Cameron.

 

We agree on a lot, but surely it's an impossibility for Steve Evans to 'build' a side between now and the end of the season, mate?

Evans is the definition of a transfer window manager, without one of those and a nice fat bag of cash to spend as he pleases, I don't really see how he'd work EVEN IF he was a realistic and viable option - which I don't think he is, considering it's once again 'charm offensive' time for Sparks regarding next year's season ticket sales.

 

Fair points. My preference would be that we make an appointment now that's intended for the long term, and give the manager the chance to assess the squad, plan for the summer transfer window and then back him properly.

If we can't find such an option, I'd be OK with Evans coming in. I think he'd be a reasonable choice to get some structure into the team and its probably low risk. If it doesn't work, we make a summer appointment, if it does, then any fan angst will soon die away. In a nutshell, if its a choice between Trueman and Evans until the summer, I'd go with evans.

 

Employing Evans or Jewell who seems to be interested would be a disaster for the club, Please god no to both of them,
