No problem whatsoever with him being caretaker until we take our time to appoint the next permanent manager.

Wouldn't be my first choice for permanent role though

1 point out of 21 for the last 7 games of the season.

He could not sustain the honeymoon 'new manager bounce' - 2 goals from 630 minutes of football in that period making Adams look like Pep. A short term stop gap, but nothing more.

We'll get a reaction from the players who downed tools against Adams against Oldham. And then people with short memories will start to talk about him continuing the role.

He has been No. 2 to Adams and seemingly gets off scot-free.

    Time for a new direction.

Lets be fair with the guy and give him all the support we can, Trueman is BCFC through and through and is one of our own, However it turns out he should have the fans support behind him

Its obvious it’s the only way he plays despite the prematch b/s. Lots of us called him out and what did we get, the failed Trueman/Adams/ Trueman formation. Anyone with half a brain knows none of this squad can handle it, no pace, no guile, no mobility.
I wasn’t joking when I said a full and utter clear out is needed. Yesterday proved that in spades. The entire 90 mins was garbage. Yes I watched it in full, it’s still my club.

IMHO, if Sparks poops his pants and hires Evans, the club can piss right off.

Mark Trueman was part of the team that saved us from going out the league last season he is perfect for the temporary job

Again it boils down to how serious we are about wanting success. What is the point in hiring a quality manager if we aren't prepared to give them the tools they need to do their job?

I’m saying he is right until we sign a permanent manager

He’s more an academy coach, as long as it’s only a couple of games then not fussed. But would rather find another role for him away from the assistant manager position tbh, I’d want the new guy to bring someone in himself.

Very harsh to want him sacked though, as boring as the football was last season he did a job for the club keeping us up. He doesn’t deserve complete sack for that.

    Exactly this.
This idea that the club are somehow forever indebted to him because of what happened last season is ridiculous and dangerous. Of course we all appreciate what he and Sellars did last season, that goes without saying, and Trueman will rightly get recognition for that in his own right on Saturday I'm sure. However, whatever decision is made about the next permanent manager needs to be taken in the best interest of Bradford City, not in the best interest of Mark Trueman.

The last few managers have worked alone and it’s failed. I’d prefer a manager/assistant manager team to come in but doubt the budget will stretch that far.

Someone has to train and pick the team until a new manager is appointed that's my take on the Trueman situation.

McCall twice, Hopkin, Bowyer, Adams, all sacked in February. A perfect illustration of how badly run we are, and how half arsed our approach to recruitment is.

By that logic, every failing business should sack absolutely everyone.

This is what I didn’t get about people saying Adams’ football was the worst they’d ever seen at City. It was terrible yes, but I only have to go back 10 months to worse. We weren’t even creating a chance in most of them games, short memories. I hope Trueman retains a role in the club for keeping us up and he did a good job with the academy when there. But nothing else.

I don't think Ryan had any other option but to call time on Adams, if it hasd just been down to football matters it might have been different but when you openly challenge your employers to get a better qualified manager in would be very difficult, but to then comment about the very people who pay your salary is not acceptable.
I don't think his comments with regards City fans were necessarily about the boo boys but more about the sort of sh!t Ryan was getting on his phone, there is NO EXCUES for that.

Another reason why sacking in February is the worst possible time - as soon as promotion and/or relegation are mathematically impossible, the season is over.

Yeah, you've got the shop window/playing for contracts issue, but it's not the same as everyone busting a gut for a massive cause.

As soon as we were safe last year, the team downed tools.

I can't say enough about how terrible an idea February managerial changes are. They are a disaster.
