The goal keeping error got our noses in front and gave us a bit of confidence, but all round as you say 7/8, DMH having good game, no complaints, now we back it up with 3 points at home to Walsall, then present table toppers Newport are our visitors next Saturday.

 

Good performance against a dreadful Mansfield side. Shape suited us, everyone knew their positions and roles and as a result we looked more comfortable and balanced.

Wood and Hossanah superb for me. The latter looks like a good find on today's evidence. Pritchard had a solid game too but really should've scored at least once. Another good game for Watt and Cooke looked more comfortable in the system too. Fair play to BRE who was good today. Its against opposition like that where he'll do well rather than against your counter attacking type sides.

Well Paudie's suspension is done now, and Staunton and Sutton's injuries don't sound serious, and there's no way McCall will leave Clarke out again - so that's 4 probable changes for starters.

 

Hosannah looked good today, turn of pace, comfortable on the ball, but Mansfield didn't get in our faces and put pressure on our back line, they were a bit one paced.

 

Very quiet on here at the moment. Clearly a lot of City fans still in shock at a first league away win in just over a year.

If we stick with 442, which I think we should, having found a winning formation in which the players are happy, we can keep the current players for Tuesday. They all played well and deserve another chance after a good win. Back-ups are OD/ Hornby, Hosannah/ French, AOC/ Paudie, BRE/Saunders or Paudie, Wood/ Longridge, DMH/Evans or Ismael, Cooke and Watt/ Clarke, Sutton or Evans, Pritchard/ that's where we have a problem, Ismael perhaps, Donaldson and Novak/ Samuels or Guthrie. Stick to a formula and change the personnel if lack of form, injuries or suspensions dictate. It's so obvious but I'd be very surprised if we stick to it because Stuart thinks he's cleverer than that, which he isn't.

 

Which of these can play on the left side of midfield? Longridge is a poor replacement for Wood. Staunton could do a job but then the options at centre back if he plays left back aren't great. Richards-Everton has his first half decent game for months and everyone thinks he's great. Same with DMH, been average at best this season.

One win doesn't prove anything unfortunately and Stuart hasn't really recruited for a classic 4-4-2 setup.
