We won the FA CUP in 1911
We are now 14th in lge 2

We got to the Premier Lge in 1999

Why would past history have any relevance on what I currently think of a team.?

Fair play to them. They aim to do a lot of things well. Only drawback is they also have a problematic custodian.

 

TBF im guessing the fee was simply to cover his remaining contract with us. So probably more than £10k.

Well if he isnt part of our plans and was told no new contract in June, then he probably had to take this opportunity to secure his short term future.

Im guessing he got a pay off, FGR covered that with the fee. FGR get a player they wanted and we increase our wage budget.

Nothing at all other than their fans seem to think it was about £40k. Doing mental rough (no morning coffee yet) maths, that's a bit less than about £1.5k a week for 6 months, which I'm guessing will have roughly been about his wage so yeah most likely they'll have just bought his contract out.

Manny walks away with £40k for nothing and gets a new deal with FGR.

 

Exactly, we see this all the time with players that aren't worth a magic bean. No one is paying a fee for Osadebe, especially when it's basically us touting him around.

 

Manny's performances were generally shocking after his unfortunate leg break.
But to be fair to him he never appeared to sulk around the place and always had a smile on his face.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if his team mates will miss him being around, he appeared to have an infectious personality.

While thats true, they must have been frustrated with him on the pitch - couldnt trap a bag of cement and feet were too fast for his brain.

 

How have we saved 40k if Manny has walked away with it?

 

I feel for the guy, he could have been a contender but that cruel leg break robbed him of nearly a season and seems to have robbed him of all his self confidence. I genuinely wish him the best, which is more than I can say for the football club he has joined.

We think we have it bad but at least our owner/ CEO/ both don't wear black nail varnish (as far as we know) and don't pay millenials to glue themselves to the road/ destroy statues of great (if admittedly flawed) innovators in an attempt to stop oil.

Their plan/ method to stop oil is about as effective as the IRA hunger strikes and as long as the motor mouth narcissist with the diet of a giant panda is behind both, the football club deserves all it gets.

 

He had 6 months remaining, IF he didnt want to move and was happy to rot in reserves he would have received that sum as per his remaining deal.

Like I said, if Manny wanted to move to play football, secure his future with a new deal, then he will have ripped that up.

I am edging towards the former because its quite clear we didnt want him on the books and he probably knew this. Its basic football economics.

Do you know how STUPID a comparison that is using your OWN statement ? . “ What they did in previous seasons is irrelevant “ . I went back two seasons you go back over a century in one example.

I suggested it wasn’t a hard question, you made it one by completely contradicting yourself.

Their RECENT history of winning the League two title recently is to be acknowledged rather than dismissed just because we won the cup in 1911.

 

Because FGR paid a fee, which is rumoured £40k. Come on man....
