I'm as confused as Edin as to why it's so difficult to find a new head coach that doesn't get to decide the style of his teams play or who he signs for his squad, and is then expected to get promotion with a mid table budget.

Haha I don't think it's as strange as you try to make it out to be.

I would guess that at a lot of teams/chairmen will have a way that the team would want to play, who they would like to implement this plan and the age and mix of a squad to do this.

The expectation isn't to get promoted as he said in the interview last week - not yet anyway, not this coming season.

 

Just out of curiosity could Rahic actually do that or would it be against EFL rules.

 

I reacon Abbos the man , announce it Friday late on , then hide while Tuesday till the flack dies down.

Or simply put, you didn’t have a reasonable response as to why you are reading comments on a ‘Manager Rumour Thread’ and criticising those that make comments on it?

I’ve no intention of playing verbal tennis with you. You clearly have an issue with me rather than my post, or I’d have to ask why I’m the childish one when most contributors on this forum have asked the same or very similar questions.

I believe it would be against the rules, as far as I know you need to reach a certain level of coaching badge (either UEFA A or Pro), if Edin has just started his footballing education in terms of badges he'll still be at tier 1

 

Seem to think avenue did it many moons ago.

 

Are you talking the Metcalfe days, I'm not sure he picked the team himself but he apponited some I believe with little or no football knowledge and made him manager then did the team selction through him.

Ah, those were the days. When you could buy a football club, pick the team and smoke a huge cigar in the dug outs. Seem to recall it worked out well for BPA. NOT !! I prefer the Clough model, where he buys players and doesn't tell the chairman until he spots two unknown names are on the team sheet as he did at Derby. Quality days, when football clubs were owned by car dealers and local butchers.

I'd be shocked if it was as it would massively limit the number of coaches coming through

Is that playing experience? If so that can't be true as Grimsby's manager is an accountant with no playing experience
