I’d just like to know what the chuff we are messing around with. It’s 2wks since Rahic told Simon Parker that we had been encouraged by the quality of applicants and that they were happy with the the shortlist they had compiled.

Surely it doesn’t take 2wks to interview those on that list and in some cases, conduct a second interview?

One can only assume that the quality wasn’t there (after speaking to them) and we had to go back to the drawing board? But the lack of noise from the club around this key decision is poor. I thought they said they had learned lessons and one of them was a lack of communication????

I suspect we're waiting for something to happen, it could be Heckingbottom or someone that's not even on our radar just now. Is Edin away this week? I thought I read a comment somewhere that suggested he was. It's school holidays so could be right.

Nah, you can assume they talked to Rahic, heard what he had to say and got out of the running in no time.

 

Just been confirmed that Paul Hirst has signed with Ipswich. So that’s another League One side looking for a gaffer. Can’t be making our seemingly endless hunt any easier.

If this is the case, you have to surmise that the quality of the candidates weren’t up to scratch afterall? They’d already drawn up a shortlist more than 2wks ago, so why would we still be waiting for someone under contract?

And being on holiday is no excuse. Didn’t they get McCall to come back from his, for his interview?

 

But they don’t have to name names. Surely just a press release to advise they had conducted first round of interviews and were interviewing some/none of them again. Or we have widened our search and hope to have news by ......

So why apply? If I was interested in a job and didn’t have the skills they wanted or wasn’t prepared to work in the environment in offer, I simply wouldn’t bother sending in my CV.

Every man and his dog knows what they want from the next man, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise in the interview

 

What absolute tosh! Just let them get on with job. Yeah it ain’t great that we don’t have anyone in place, but I’m fairly confident they know they need someone. This constant desire to know everything that goes on is infuriating and quite childish.

 

We need a coach in place by Friday this week in my view! After that we are scrambling around trying to get someone in place so they can fully participate in the recruitment process!

Like everyone else don’t understand why it is taking so long. Please don’t hang around with any candidate who is uming and aring, move on!

 

So why have you signed up to a fans forum then? To try to find out bits of information?

Why is it childish to want to know who the next coach is going to be, seen as we are approaching a month since the last one left..?

I actually started typing a reply to your message - then i thought of all the crap dialogue i'd have to go through with you and the headache that'd be caused by smashing my head against a brick wall. So i'll wish you a lovely day and leave it at that.

 

Weird. I found the following transcript in an investigation into why City don't have a head coach in place...

Rahic: Welcome to Bradford City! We are so pleased you are interested in the role of head coach.

Applicant: Yes, football management has long been my dream, and to become manager of Bradford City would---

Rahic: Head Coach

Applicant: Sorry?

Rahic: Head Coach. Not manager.

Applicant: How do you mean?

Rahic: You'll be coaching the players. That is your priority. But don't worry. You'll have SOME say on transfers.

Applicant: Some?

Rahic: Yes. If there's anyone left to sign, that is.

Applicant: How do you mean?

Rahic: We're already signing players.

Applicant: So you're signing a coach to suit the players?

Rahic: Yes.

Nobody knows why the applicant withdrew his bid to become 'head coach'.

It remains a mystery.

Where did that "transcript" come from? Someone phone tapping again or a recorded interview or just plain made up?

 

go on, take a wild guess......

 

There's no real panic yet, whether we like it or not we're getting a head coach. As players are being signed anyway there's some breathing space timewise, the squad won't be back for another month or so. We have a couple more weeks tops to get this sorted IMO.

 

They release a statement saying we are down to the last X amount of candidates, please be calm while we get the best man for the job but we don't have an exact time frame for the appointment but in the meantime work is still being done to recruit players.

Twitter/Facebook/Bantamtalk goes mental because they haven't given any further information than we what they have said before.

No win situation until they appoint. By saying nothing they can't be accused of doing something that could bite them on behind.
