I think he's far and away better than the others that have been mentioned - Rosler? Cotterill? Cathro? Megson? no thanks. Warburton plays football rather than hoof, was brilliant at Brentford, and given how Karaka has got on after him, he wasn't bad at Forest while also blooding youngsters.

thought we'd have no chance of Warburton, so I'd be well pleased.

spoke to a Forest supporting friend of mine, the verdict is "plays football out from the back. you could do a lot worse. however, he'll sign a load of players from Scotland because he gets kick backs. also no plan b"

supposedly his son or daughter in law represent a load of players in the SPL and he was getting kickbacks for signing them. he wanted to add a load more in the next window, which didn't go down well at Forest, it led to his dismissal. aswell as results, obviously.

The reason Warburton left Brentford in 2015 was because they were remodelling to adopt the 'head coach' system which he did not want to be part of!

 

Hhhhmm good rumour don't trust anyone with that name though.... esp the '99 bit....

 

Maybe he's heard the rumour we are knocking the development squad on the head, and are going to give the new man free reign on all football matters.

 

Thanks. I don't know too much about him, to be honest. Living abroad means that many of the names mentioned, in particular their style of football, are somewhat unknown. I'd been under the impression that he was a route one merchant.

Nope, that's not right. Whilst it's true that he was replaced with a head coach, it was a disagreement with the change in recruitment and team selection philosophy to a "Moneyball" type approach that lead to him (as well as his assistant and the director of football) being let go by the club.
