What a shame it would be if someone accidentally fell into the car with a massive brick on the way to football.
I certainly couldn't condone such outrageous behaviour.

The simple answer is to close Midland road completely for 30minutes after the match between its junctions of Queens Road and Hamm Strasse including all side roads that enter it along that stretch. If anyone who parks on Midland road objects to this then find somewhere else to park.
The pavements aren’t wide enough to allow 15000 people to get away from the stadium.
For anyone that travels to away games they’ll know it’s very common for surrounding roads to be closed after the game until fans have dispersedFrenchBantam, WilsdenBantam, Hugh Jarse and 3 others like this. -

Couple of ways of dealing with the problem. Stop parking on Midland Road on match days from the point where they block the road especially the railway side, it blocks the pavement forcing the bottlenecks on the road. Or from say 15 minutes from the end of a game to 25.minutes after stop the flow of traffic onto Midland Road from Queens Road and Manningham Lane. Only allow vehicles out from that area onto Manningham Lane and Queens Road the problem is never with traffic using the stadium, all the incidents I've seen ( too many over the years) have been exclusively the fault of 'Leeds Road' type drivers. How someone wasn't seriously injured on Saturday is by sheer luck, the fact they motioned to leave the vehicle at various times to ' interact' with the football fans shows a complete disregard for human life. A short term measure would be to station a police vehicle on Midland Road after each match with a police presence on the road. If something isn't done to try remedy this and someone does get hurt then people should be held responsible for the lack of action.PuNknDiSoRdErLy, WilsdenBantam, Briggus and 2 others like this. -
Having 15,000 fans exit a football ground is always going to create a short term challenge in terms of pedestrian congestion. A system could be put into place, but the reality is that 3-4 times a season, we see this sort of thing. And we're not talking about the simple mismanagement of traffic, we're talking about human scum. In any other situation, purposefully driving a vehicle at speed into a crowded area of pedestrians would be regarded an act of terror. It's only a matter of time before someone is very seriously injured or worse.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Given all the concerns in this thread and earlier similar incidents, I got in touch with Ryan Sparks.
He told me that, “we are aware of the reported incident and are working with West Yorkshire Police in their investigation, while looking at ways in which we can make the area safer, in order to avoid any further incidents”.RCarol, Allotment Bantam, WilsdenBantam and 2 others like this. -

Same issues were raised years ago via the Supporters Board. Club, Police & Council did nothing then & nothing will happen now. Next time it happens someone will get seriously hurt be it a fan or the driver. Council will then ban parking on Midland Rd. as it will be the fans fault, not the local community.

Over my life I have driven all over the country and abroad but the standard of driving in Bradford is by far the worst.
A fact recognised by insurance premiums I now pay approximately a third of what I used to pay.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Idlebantam, Bantam-in-Greece and Bronco like this. -
I ran a business for years in BD3 and now work in BD9, I live in BD10 and the horrendous driving in Bradford is a predominantly asian problem. The elders recognise this and do what they can, if they can talk freely about it there is no point in wriggling over inverted commas.
With shared pool cars and ever rising insurance I really don't know what the answer is, so many won't pay for insurance and the loss of a pool car might be less than £100 to each "owner" with the driver nearly always untraceable.Jayteebee, Bantam-in-Greece and Bronco like this.
