Once again on Saturday post match a car came speeding towards the ground on Midland Road causing people to jump out of the way and was a real danger. Anybody see it.

I thought someone would mention that. I saw the incident and there are a couple of problems. 23 times a year those pavement cannot cope with the amount of footfall for a short period of time and the area around the ground is not pedestrian, motor vehicle compatible.
Couple of ways of dealing with the problem. Stop parking on Midland Road on match days from the point where they block the road especially the railway side, it blocks the pavement forcing the bottlenecks on the road. Or from say 15 minutes from the end of a game to 25.minutes after stop the flow of traffic onto Midland Road from Queens Road and Manningham Lane. Only allow vehicles out from that area onto Manningham Lane and Queens Road the problem is never with traffic using the stadium, all the incidents I've seen ( too many over the years) have been exclusively the fault of 'Leeds Road' type drivers. How someone wasn't seriously injured on Saturday is by sheer luck, the fact they motioned to leave the vehicle at various times to ' interact' with the football fans shows a complete disregard for human life. A short term measure would be to station a police vehicle on Midland Road after each match with a police presence on the road. If something isn't done to try remedy this and someone does get hurt then people should be held responsible for the lack of action.

People walking in Midland road towards Queens Road instead of on the path is also encouraged because of the overgrowing trees and bushes - some growing out of the wall and other branches hanging over it. They are never trimmed and force you to the edge of the path or in the road if you don't want your eye taking out.
Edit: After moaning about it for ages after every home game, I have now reported it to the Council

The answer is to make it one way from 3 till 6 match days but you will never legislate for lunatics. Pedestrians don’t help either by not using a bit of common sense

You do know that the Highway Code is a bit more than roads are for cars and paths are for people? Have you ever heard of the Highway Code?

I was being a little facetious. I wasn’t there, so I have no idea what went on. But, in the past I’ve seen folk drive like tits, and conversely, I’ve seen folk deliberately drag their feet whilst crossing Manningham Lane, presumably just to be awkward..You’re right, a better Police presence is needed. But no one will want to pay for that.

    That's exactly right Park.

Having 15,000 fans exit a football ground is always going to create a short term challenge in terms of pedestrian congestion. A system could be put into place, but the reality is that 3-4 times a season, we see this sort of thing. And we're not talking about the simple mismanagement of traffic, we're talking about human scum. In any other situation, purposefully driving a vehicle at speed into a crowded area of pedestrians would be regarded an act of terror. It's only a matter of time before someone is very seriously injured or worse.

To be fair your point is relevant, if people stuck to pavements it wouldn't be a big problem, but a lot of the time the pavements are unusable due to problems menttioned before.

If we shut the road off the ' scum' would be irrelevant. We'll, at least until you'd got away from the vicinity of the ground.
