That is the same problem we have had all season, not clinical enough in the final third, or at least not consistent enough.

 

Caddis had a decent game though, one mistake doesn't detract away from that. Chicksen wasn't that bad through periods of the game but first half his marking was atrocious and he kept passing inside to midfielders who were surrounded.

I wasn't particularly having a dig at Caddis, but tonight Chicksen was no worse yet still gets all the abuse

 

As i alluded to before, Bowyer cannot change the fact we have no pace at all in midfield or upfront or any physicality throughout the team. I thought we played half decent second half but knowing full well we wouldn't score. Ultimately tonight the difference between the two teams was they had a goal threat. We didn't.

 

Disagree here, Caddis is the only player currently that gives this team width,which when you think we have 4 midfield players is poor.
He puts in his fair share of crosses too, which helps to disguise the fact that Payne isn't playing.
Won a few easy free kicks by falling down near our area.
Probably our best player in the first half, along with Akpan.
Trouble is that was the half where yet again no shots on target and no attempts either(according to bbc sport stats).
Bowyer needs this team to be far more creative if we are going to get a draw or a win.

 

Plenty of effort tonight but little quality. One shot on target all night but he chooses to leave Payne on the bench and bring on Patrick who is Avenue standard.

 

Well I was watching Payne in the pre match warm up and IMHO I didn't see him matching the other players in the level of effort being put in. Something is awry with him.

 

Wouldn't have made any difference in my opinion. The player we needed was one we hadn't had all season, namely a wide player with the ability to beat a man. We worked the ball into some good positions but without that pace or guile we are so easy to defend against.

 

Can anyone tell me what Anderson offers? I can't work out what type of midfielder he is but he was absolutely dreadful tonight.

One thing about luton that caught my eye, when defending corners, all their players were there, no-one left upfield.
They probably have the players to break quickly on the counter.

This is what happens when you've pre-rated player long before the game has started.

Anyone with a sense of basic fairness will have noted Chicksen did NOT have a bad game, far from it. Did he misplace a single pass in the first half? On the ball, Chicksen was very good, playing several quality passes inside to the midfield area - off the ball, he was getting pelters from the Midland Road stand at times, and possibly rightfully so - but when Luton were pushing three men up front at times, AND wingers down the sidelines, it was actually O'Brien and Butterfield that let us down on the left wing.

I think you've a really, really poor judgement call, and the fact you'll probably now tell other Chicksen was dreadful is a bit embarrassing for you.

Well said. I thought it was just me. Amazing how tonight the first thing some people can think to say about the game was how shit Chicksen was

It's bullshit, I don't really care if Chicksen gets slated as awful for a bang average performance, even though it's a bit unfair, but he was actually pretty good today.

It just makes people look a bit dense when they spew the same crap regardless of what actually happens.

 

We'll find out on friday it'll be 'another two weeks'.
