That said, I’d have brought Payne on for the last 10 mins or so instead of Clarke.

 

Clarke is Payne's replacement for Division 2 next season.

 

I think Luton did a professional job on us. Ran us ragged in the first half and then allowed us as much possession as we wanted second half knowing full well we had nothing to hurt them with. Bowyer has given us more shape than Hopkin did but he'll soon realise that he can't wave a magic wand over the fundamental flaws in this team, namely a dodgy defence, an attack with little goal threat and a sever lack of pace when on the attack. Shame because a decent side would have caused them problems.

 

Only read the last few pages but I thought I would've read more comments about how awful Percival and chicksen were. Absolutely dreadful.

 

Thought we played some good stuff at times but just lacked that end product.
Thought Anderson was awful. Seemed way off the pace which cost us a goal. No idea how he played the full game. The subs were very strange. Can understand Payne not starting but he needs to be coming on when we need a goal. Hes our most creative player.

 

Dead right it amazing how after we play a good side people come in here and say they were average. Luton as a team and individualy are a very good team for this level. If as looks likely we go down it won’t be tonight that sends us down it was one of our better performances

 

Amazing people still picking on Chicksen and not a mention of Caddis who was poor tonight.

 

So we are one nil down and need a goal. We have Payne and Clarke on the bench..................what was Bowyer thinking????

Caddis is and always will be levels ahead of Chicksen. Caddis was perfectly fine tonight, chicksen had yet another shocker I'm afraid.

 

Anybody who thinks
NKP, Chicksen and Anderson contribute anything need sectioning, IMO.

I'm sure the only reason he is there is because he big and we are a bit lightweight. I was surprised he came out for the second half, particularly as he was on a booking

 

I thought they looked like a team who hadn’t lost for some considerable time in the first half, really played us off the park. However, I was impressed with the way we held it together after they scored. Second half we had a real go, and yes i actually thought we could have least have got a point. Another clear pen waved away. Did we deserve a draw, yes by a sqeak. In the end they were having a panic 10/15 mins before the end, it was 10 men behind the ball. I was not impressed by all the niggley fouls on and off the ball. Yet another weak ref. Seems like you have to cheat to get the edge. I did think they are not as good as I thought they would be with their record. Why all the celebrations at the end? They had just beaten a bottom of the table side by 1-0, not won the league, still think Barnsley will beat them to it.

How do you think that game would have gone earlier in the season then?

 

Plenty of cause for genuine optimism for our survival bid starting on Saturday.

If Luton are the best of this league then it goes to show what a shite league this is. They were organised, clearly brimming with confidence and showed good game management. We need to start to build a squad that emulates that work ethic etc. Its gonna take at least 2 seasons though.

 

One of our better performance lol, this has to be tempered with the our form over the rest of the season. In truth we could still be playing this next week and we still wouldn't have scored. And you don't score, you don't win.
