    Hello.
I don’t like posting on other teams forums as a rule and will not outstay my welcome. However I just wanted to wish you well for the rest of the season. You gave us a very tough match and if you keep playing that way then you will stay up. I do think we did just about enough to deserve the win but then I am biased. Hope you turn the good performances into results.

Nope, I am not having it. We go all out for a win, if we end up with a draw or lose so be it, we must let our team attack off the leash. Look what happened at Barnsley.

It's fecking Luton Town we are playing, not Manchester City.

I disagree. I welcome the approach in trying to pass the ball. It needs to be quicker and more incisive, with more forward runs off the ball - but he’s had two games, against top 7 sides! It takes time to build that approach into something more effective.

Luton are simply a better side than us in every department. Bowyer approached the game as I expected. Our only chance was to keep it tight. The way the game shaped up, ‘going for it’ would’ve been more likely to see a Luton goal than a City goal. They’d have picked us off. A bit more composure or a bit of luck is what was needed tonight.

Now, if we need a goal against oxford, or in one of our more winnable home games, I’d absolutely expect us to make more adventurous changes.

Luton were the template - they had a bit more composure and movement on the ball, and were resilient, physical and snidey off the ball. Exactly what it takes at this level. And league 2.

Bollocks to this happy with a point. We want all three, we are still adrift and one point doesn't help going into the 6 pointer next week against Oxford. All good runs come to an end, lets make Lutons end on Tuesday night.

Luton fan signs up and posts on here about how great they are, and half the City fans kiss arse and compliment how well they’ve done. Shit me, I’ve now realised just how far we’ve fallen.

They are unbeaten in over half a season and we haven't beaten them since 1968 . So it's time for both records to be smashed, let's get in their faces and make it a night to remember for City.

Agree that tomorrow is a 'bonus' match. Whilst 12 points may be enough, the way I'm looking at it is 5 wins. The best chances for those 5 wins are from these 8 matches:
    • Oxford United (away)
    • Blackpool (home)
    • Doncaster Rovers (home)
    • Bristol Rovers (away)
    • Coventry City (away)
    • Gillingham (home)
    • Scunthorpe United (away)
    • Wimbledon (home)
That's 8 matches to get the 5 wins. I'm looking at Luton Town (home) and Charlton Athletic (away) as 'bonus' matches. Win 1 of those and the above list becomes 4 from 8.

He’s prioritising what he wants in terms of team shape and system. I get it.

That said, I’d have brought Payne on for the last 10 mins or so instead of Clarke.

How many times have City lost to teams who haven't won for ages. It's time the tide turned and we became positive record breakers.

Obviously they are a very good side, you don’t go half a season unbeaten on luck alone. If we end up with a point I will be content, if we lose it will not be end, but we have to think we can turn these over, and have the right mentality going into the match. If we go into this match thinking we will settle for a point we will lose. We as fans also have to be up for it as well, that is what happened on Saturday, it gets through to the players, we do not take one step back, this is our pad and we are not rolling over for Luton Town, because they want promotion.

I know a lot of people will moan tonight but City played well. We matched them for the whole match apart from one defensive lapse. Surprised Payne didn't come on - we just needed that spark in the final third

That was another game against a "top" side where you think "wow, how shite is this division".

Garbage you weren’t there. You are forever pulling the side you purport to follow down.
Two good appeals for penalties to join many other ref mistakes this season. Luton the best team in the in the league we’re hanging on at the end using every tactic to run the clock down.
We have been crap.for most of the season and deserve our position but at the same time we have had no luck at all. Our last two performances give us hope that we can get the wins we now need

I would have Chicksen in anyhow. Just cannot rely on Woods to complete a game, even if fit enough to start

I would definitely take a point from our hardest game of the 10 remaining, thats for sure

Disagree about Barnsley. We got off light with the 2-0 scoreline. They looked streets ahead of us that day, and remain by far the best team ive seen so far this season

Wow. You say you can mix it? You obviously can play football, but don't you get fed up of watching grown men moaning, whining, whinging and rolling around on the floor :)

The lack of pace throughout the team kills us, it makes defending against so much easier when you know a team has no one who can run in behind or run at a fullback or centre back. In the circumstances of this season we played alright last night but our limitations were cruelly exposed last night. Plenty of possession second half but never looking like scoring. Its one of the reasons that this team never recovers when the opposition goes in front, they can shut any goal threat down very easily. Fans clamouring for Payne yesterday, well we tried that one with Clarke and Butterfield at Walsall and look how that ended up. I like Payne as a player but the last two games we've looked a balanced outfit, unfortunately we can't play woeful teams like Peterborough every week.

Need to go 4 -3 -1 -2 against Oxford drop Anderson bring Payne in behind Ball and Doyle with a free role. Back 4 the same Akpan centre mid with OB left and Butterfield right of him. Oxford couldn't contain Payne earlier in the season when he played that role we need that formation again.

I like the football and tactics that Bowyer has deployed in his two games in charge, certainly making us look a better and more balanced outfit.
However, as Rogered Tart alludes to above, the lack of pace throughout the team is definitely a major hindrance .

Another good performance from Akpan last night, and he has certainly stepped up a few gears since been handed the captain's armband. Butterfield was mainly kept in check last night, which was a shame, another decent performance from O'Connor too, fair play to him, he has answered the critism and abuse most of us give him after Pompey, with 2 of his best performances of the season.

Well done to Bowyer so far, he is certainly getting a better tune out of the squad he has inherited. That said, I felt Luton were in cruise control for most of last night, and we barely looked like scoring. Not too disheartened after last night, I was expectinga heavier defeat, and I didnt think we would come out of the last 2 games with us narrowing the gap to 20th by 2 points after the Pompey debacle
