When we went 2-0 up in the replay against Millwall in 2015 I went online from my seat at VP and bought a priority card to guarantee a ticket for the Chelsea game. I'd actually been to plenty of away games that season without one, but anyone could have done likewise whether they'd been to any games or not.

I don't go to many away games nowadays but a proper loyalty scheme like the one mentioned that Sheffield Wednesday have is long overdue.

Cheers, it's not all that important if priorities are likely to change, I have a brother that gets to a lot of away games, I pay for 4 st's and then they pay me so they don't have their own accounts as such, no worries and thanks for your reply..

They will have an account .... even if they don't realise it! It is accessed using the last 5 (or maybe 6) digits of the Customer No on the back of their ST. Unfortunately I don't recall what the default password is!

I hope the club does issue Away Priority tickets, just to piss off @Loyalbantam@Loyalbantam , whose views on this issue are so strident and dogmatic.

I actually resent the logic that going to lots of current away games makes you more of an uberfan and that it should therefore guarantee you first dibs on limited supply tickets.

A single 20 year old, in work, will have disposable income and lots of time to go swanning off to away matches to their heart's content. But a married supporter with a mortgage and family commitments may well have neither. Likewise, a retired supporter may have limited income and or health issues that preclude them from regular away game travel.
Both of the latter probably have decades of loyal support, home and away, probably have season tickets and attend regular home games. Why should those supporters have less chance of getting tickets for popular matches than those whose personal circumstances just happen to make them able to attend lots of away games right now?

So you’d prefer it to be a free for all for everyone who just might fancy going to an away game?
I understand that peoples life circumstances change over time but it’s not feasible to keep the availability of away tickets open to everyone.
We’re a big club with large fanbase in a tinpot league where only 400 tickets are available for some games. For now a loyalty points system is the only fair way to ensure regular away travellers get first dibs but hopefully once we are back up to Championship level with larger away allocations it will be less of a problem.

Fully agree with this opinion even though it rules me out of any small allocation away games, but fairs fair the hardcore travellers should definitely be rewarded.

It is all very difficult. I went to the Dartford home game, Milwall away, Milwall at home, yet despite having the stubs, I couldn’t get a ticket for the Chelsea match. Still rankles to this day (I wouldn’t recount it otherwise). I know people who had not been to the prior matches, weren’t Season Ticket holders yet still got tickets for the Stamford Bridge gig!

Exactly, you should have expected to get a ticket out of an allocation of 6000 in front of someone who’d been to none.
Same principle that a fan who attended 23 away games last season should expect to have a ticket for Barrow, Harrogate and Sutton this season but some on here don’t want it that way.
They think that because 20 years ago when they might have travelled away regularly they should have the same entitlement today. It doesn’t work like that.

Isn't this all a perfect reason that when a away allocation has been sold out and paid for then i-follow should be available solely through the away club...?

If loyalty points were accumulative, then over time fans would be rewarded for the long term support.
In the short term there's not a lot the club can do as there isn't any loyalty points pre 21/22.

Absolutely but ONLY when the allocation is sold out.

That’s the part that’s unclear until the club confirm whether fans will continue to accumulate points or whether it gets reset to zero.
Ie. I have 880 points accumulated by attending games last season. Will I continue to accrue points on top of this?
It would seem a bit unfair for instance if the same 1000 fans attend all away games thus doubling the points total and effectively making it a closed shop for anyone else to get tickets.
A fairer way would be to reset points to zero and points accumulated this season are valid for next season and so on.
In this way a fan could start to accrue points by attending less popular games such as Colchester, Gillingham, Crawley etc etc

So you want the club to facilitate you being able to get a limited away ticket even if that means someone who goes week in week out missed out? Hmmmm that seems a very selfish attitude.

I think accumulative would be fairer, to reward those who support through thick and thin, although appreciate this could mean a bit of a closed shop.

I don’t want anything…if I want to go to an away game there are zero barriers to stop me 99% of the time. I just go in the home support section . It’s not bothered me in the past why should it now.

Where have I made a selfish comment…I said I have covered all the scenarios that were being discussed. For the record I am not a member of any scheme, loyalty or otherwise, I don’t hold a season ticket. So how and why am I selfish? If I can’t get a ticket to any game I fancy , I have “other” means/ contacts to ensure I do see the game. Don’t make accusations without all the facts, it’s serves your argument poorly. Hope that clarifies?

How did that work to get a priority card you had to be a season ticket holder so I would assume to get a ticket for the game you had to show your season ticket details.
