Love it, will give supporters a little buzz before entering the ground. A real sense of belonging and inspiration before we walk through the turnstiles.

Next job is to give those steps next to it a lick of paint!

 

Little things like this are great and it does add to the buzz around the place - the City painting on the corner at the start of Manningham Ln, the big advertising board on the walk down and there's been more effort made on the concourses - it really adds up.
Then there's other things like new player tunnel, painting the club shop/changing room corner of the ground and starting to replace the seats. All long overdue upgrades to the stadium that in the past were completely neglected. You can see the shift in thinking at management level and its very positive so credit where its due
There should always be some money in the budget for this sort of thing and hope there is more to come!

 

I wish they’d do something with the massive circular window on the midland road concourse. It’s a right eyesore

Surprised we don’t have a Hanson statue already. I mean, is there any greater rags-to-riches tale at our club than the bloke that was playing local non-league while doing a few shifts in the co-op, but went on to beat Prem teams like Wigan, Arsenal, Villa, Chelsea (he also bagged vs Leeds in the derby cup game too) in those giant killing cup runs by the history makers (if you were at those games then you’ll never, ever, forget any of them……), earned a promotion in our colours and formed one of the most lethal modern day partnerships we’ve seen with Wells, then, to top it off, earned himself a decent-money move to the Championship Champions and got himself another medal there.

A great story, a nice lad, and a great tale to pass down through the generations, even though there was always some bizarre denial of his ability among our own fans! Not sure why. Jealousy maybe. Maybe bitterness he was slumming it on the local football scene like so many before getting his break.

Im a Hanson fan. He got far too much unjust hate from our toxic fanbase.

 

Mate cook got 31 goals but was still poo. Keano said give me striker who gets 20 goals and that’s all he needs to do.. Hanson without injuries was superb for us….

 

Yes those steps wind me up . Makes the walkway look shabby, without the chic.

 

There will some of course who will claim the statue would be more mobile

James Hanson is as big a legend as Bobby & Stuart in my book (Haven't written it yet, but he will be when I do)

 

Personally I wouldn't go that far. I would say Hanson is more of an icon - sits at the same table as Windass, Wetherall and Gary Jones.

 

Behave. No one comes close to Stuart and Bobby.
