Time for big decisions mate. Not sure the club want to make them though. We've been wanting Bowyer out on TCA for ages now, like yourself we anticipated this god awful run after watching the games this season. Rupp has stated there is money available, he seems an honourable man and expect he will be seething at how the manager and players are letting him down. Interesting to know what Rhodes has been relaying to him in their conversations, it wouldn't surprise me if Bowyer was left in charge till the end of the season despite the growing calls for his resignation, its the sort of club we are.
To put some context on it i've followed City for the best part of 40 years. I thought a large handful of games i saw last season were the worst i'd seen in my lifetime of following. That yesterday was as bad as anything i've seen served up by either Todd, Taylor, Docherty, Collins, Grayson or HopkinS. To get completely bummed by a team as limited and out of form as they were, well i don't think it can be bettered.
A new low for the club this season.

Seems a long time ago we sang "weve got cullen"... but hey if you are judging his second spell as a failure then there is no point in debating with you. It must be personal unless you think others have taken the gauntlet up and have surpassed his achievements. Sacked after his 1st bad run by an egomaniac who had been waiting to pull the trigger since Millwall. If we had a decent chairman then we would not be talking about how we struggled to get 1 shot away against Mansfield in the bottom tier of the english leagues.

2-0 down away at a side 20th in the league, with 2 home wins all season and the 2nd worst defensive record in the league, and his answer is to throw on an extra defender? And was anyone surprised?
He has no idea what he's doing. The performances are getting worse and more tellingly, the body language and effort levels of the players are getting worse too. I dont think they buy into him. He's lost them. We obviously dont do anything possession based in training and the abject inability of Bowyer to even create a chance for Doyle over the last 4 games is an indictment on his coaching ability.
The only way we have a chance of promotion this season is by getting shut. And we have to do it quickly, because we also need 1-2 players in. In particular, a midfielder who can actually tackle.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...The Evidence, Inspector, Fordy117 and 8 others like this. -

I am really sad about how this is turning out. I had thought that Bowyer was turning things round. The club seemed a happier place. He seemed to be a good man manager and got Reeves playing again - and he did well in his first couple of matches. For me it began to go belly up the moment Donaldson was victim of that Morecambe player standing on his foot. I have to be fair to Bowyer, the injuries have cost us, not just to Donaldson, but Devitt, McCartan and Ismail too.
Now comes the big but. He is too cautious and worries far too much about the opposing team. His formations and set up do not get the best out of the team or put us on the front foot. For example yesterday, if Donaldson was really only fit for 15 or 20 minutes I would have said not fit. We would have been much better with Doyle and Oteh up front with McCartan or Devitt behind. Baffled why Cooke is not one of our central midfielders and sits on the bench. The one thing I would say is the last 10 minutes after Donaldson came on was the only time after Connolly's miss in the first few minutes that we actually got in the opposition box. I think Donaldson and Doyle could work well together, but who knows if we will ever see it.
Yesterday was very poor and reminded me of Peter Taylor days. I don't like booing the players, we should be supporting them, especially when we are away and they got plenty of abuse, even McGee. I didn't like it yesterday in particular as I think the performance is Bowyer's fault for setting them up the way he does match after match, it must be demoralising. I thought McGee, Wood, Doyle and McCartan did their best despite the manager.
I am not sure where this leaves us. If Bowyer gets the boot, who will come in? Will they be able to improve the team and performances in time for this season? I am certain though that if Bowyer is to go, we need a new credible management team to step into their place immediately. How likely is that?bantamdave41, Keefly Bantam, Onside and 2 others like this. -

Gary Bowyer has a win % @City of 30.4
In comparison McCall failed spell here he had a win% of 34.6 and parky had that win% also.
McCall win% last time was 45.8% yet some just look at his last 6 games when the rahic manipulation took its toll. ;-(
Others worth looking at
Collins 28%
Grayson and Jackson 21%
Hopkin 20%

Think todays result was my tipping point. We've offered f**k all for the last 5 or 6 games. That result is up there in terms of our Peter Taylor days for bottom of the barrel.

I hope Bowyer leaves of his own accord. The guy is decent in comparison to Grayson and Hopkin, so I’d hate to see him abused because he doesn’t deserve that. He’s gone a long way to pulling the club back together but needs to go quickly before it all unravels again.
All this team need is an identity, galvanising and stability because we have the players to be performing far better than we are.
