He won’t be told. He keeps peddling his whole “they got us all banned” nonsense despite being shown by numerous posters that it wasn’t down to just the one incident.
He’s the worst of about four or five on here who are just totally obsessed with this idea that Liverpool fans are somehow worse than everybody else. They've been shown evidence by numerous posters that despite their paranoia about them their behaviour hasnt been any worse than that of any other group of fans.
It’s deep routed tribal prejudice. Pointless arguing with them.

 

If I'm one of the "4 or 5" I can assure you that there's no "tribal prejudice".

I even went to Anfield last year to watch them play Cardiff in the cup and had a great day looking around the ground and the club shop. I've absolutely no PL allegiance whatsoever.

 

I'm not saying it's acceptable. I'm saying it's insignificant compared to the incompetent logistics, organisation and policing of the event.
If you submit any large crowd of people to unacceptable conditions you are bound to get a few hotheads who take matters into their own hands. That's nothing unique to Liverpool fans. But that makes them a consequence of the disorganisation, not the cause of it.

 

Just seen that the French Senate inquiry has cleared the fans of both clubs, they even called the report Inevitable Fiasco
and the man in charge of policing has suddenly retired.

The enquiry panel has now reported. Absolutely scathing about the roles of EUFA, the French police and French authorities. Fans basically exonerated from blame for what happened.

Liverpool fans completely exonerated for the Champions League Final chaos caused by crap UEFA planning, overzealous French Police and local thugs. Now being paid out compensation by EUFA for the trauma that many of them experienced.

 

That makes it OK to endanger the safety of other people then?

What if every Liverpool fan at Hillsborough paid £500 for tickets? Does that excuse them rushing through the gate?

 

maybe do what they do at large gigs in this country. Check tickets before you get anywhere near the venue. So have a cordon before the stadium that you then only allow ticketed fans past. They then get easier access to the turnstiles. That way fake tickets etc are picked up earlier.

so in those hours that fans were waiting for the turnstiles to open they could have had their tickets checked and any issues dealt with

UEFA statement admits fans were pepper sprayed after kick off while waiting to get in to the game to force them away from the stadium. How would you react to being denied entry to the game by the french police despite holding a valid ticket??

Your narrative that its all the Liverpool supporters fault is clearly wrong.

How the mighty have fallen. It annoyed me the press were touting them as quadruple favourites and "can they do it?"...when in reality it was never in their own hands as they found out last Sunday. Made me laugh when Owen spouted after the game that Real Madrid have beaten the "best team in Europe" (Liverpool) and Rio asked how can they be the best team in Europe when they didn't win the league.

I'm pretty sure the foul up before kick off was 50/50. Some fans taking a chance no doubt, but for sure the organising body will have messed up somewhere along the line, because they always do. There's no way on Earth that the World Cup is going to go smoothly. These guys can't organise the proverbial.

 

Because they're were more fans there than tickets available.

I didn't say they all held a valid ticket and for the Police to pepper spray groups of fans standing waiting to get into the ground is shocking.

I doubt the system checking the tickets is fit for purpose anyway as a Liverpool player gave a mate a ticket (given to him by the club itself) and he was turned away being told his ticket was a fake.

 

Clearly more fans trying to get into the stadium than had legitimate tickets.

Unless loads with genuine tickets didn't bother going?
