:brig:. It's the only way it would make sense. You can't give away lower league clubs these days, the modern trend seems to be owners of clubs like Fleetwood, Fylde, Forest Green Rovers and Salford, clubs with little to no history that cost nothing to buy but have owners with local ties to the club who have invested money in the long term development of these clubs with grounds and training facilities they own. No coincidence these clubs are moving in the right direction. Now if R & R had paid a minimal fee for City and then earmarked say 5 to 10 £million for the ground buy back and long term improvements to the infrastructure facilities with money earmarked to a long term strategy in squad strengthening and manager recruitment then i could see some sort of plan. As it is, its always been a disaster waiting to happen since the day they took over, the only surprise being to me is how quickly they've managed to completely f*uck it up, i thought it might have taken a season or two longer.

That was the problem mate, they never intended to invest, their whole investment was spunked on the purchase price. Problem is thats only the start, its business suicide to pay that much for an asset and have no real funds to invest in its future. I've my theory of how all this was going to pan out from the start and unfortunately i've watched it happen in front of my own eyes every week. Worse thing is that theory ends in unmitigating disaster, which is were we are heading fast. Make no bones about it league 2 is going to be a real struggle with the state this club is in. It needs a clear out and a new regime with a clear, sensible and workable strategy to turn this around.

What quality of player will we attract on 6k cheap season tickets in League 2? You just can't see a quick return.

If my familial colloquialism isn't to your taste, I'll say it differently for you ...

It is a fundamental mistake to consider investment decisions ex post facto!

Where’s this 6k figure come from? I still think we will get around 8-10 at these prices

Yes I agree I see no way back for him now. However, again you quote the large turnover of staff. Much of this turnover is because those staff members have been given the opportunity to move on to further their careers and/or earn more money. Some have been dismissed for actions that would get anyone sacked in any company. We simply cannot keep putting the blame at Edin's door. If you speak to staff at the club now like we do then you get a completely different picture of the working environment. Again, the opinions some people have about him being egotistical and refusing to listen etc etc. how many of these people have actually ever met him ? If you spoke to him, had a drink with him then those opinions would change. Unfortunately fans are turning against fellow fan's now and the fanbase is being split in two. For that reason alone something has to change and I can only see one thing that would change that and that is Edin going.

I don't think we will. We were getting 9-10k in League 2, when everyone 'was in it together'.

For what it's worth, my 4 won't be renewing under R&R.

Without being in the top two divisions what other way do you make money from a football league club? Sometimes without being in the prem?

Didn’t ever say it was a good decision to invest based on how close we were to promotion and our season ticket holders

Is there a club that actually makes money in the championship that hasn't been to the promised land of the premiership? If they wanted to make money i'd suggest lower league football is the last place you would invest.

Agreed, too much hearsay and emotional argument.

    The facts are damning enough!

You guys speak to fairly regularly to Rahic i guess, what is Edin's whole take on how we have got to this position? Does he understand the full implications of the impact of his decision making and the implementation of his strategy?

The replacement issue is simple.Replace someone good for someone cheaper but not so good.To the clueless, this is all about still having someone but it's a numbers game,we had one, still got one.

All you say may well be true, however a large turnover over of staff is never a good idea, as I say you lose experience and expertise, so the club should be doing everything possible to keep staff onboard. I would ask Edin what is he doing, and sensitive exit interviews as a way of finding out why ppl are leaving to further their careers.

So in your view he is not egotistical and lacks listeners skills?

I agree about the splits within the fan base, and because the team are performing poorly, nothing to galvanise and unite the fan base. Our plummet down the league has also caste a momumental gloom cloud over the fan base.

Presumably, in terms of results, this is the worst calendar year in the club's history?

There is just nothing to be positive about. We're not just bottom. We're by far the worst team in the league. We're shocking.

Yeah and we know why. 2 reasons. Nahki Wells and the two cup runs. Problem with this is it is not an infinite solution, assets like Wells come along once in a blue moon unless you have a transfer policy like Peterborough and chances are we won't get another cup run like the two we had under Parky, i think we had to wait well over a decade for those two cup runs alone. The only way to stay in 'the black' without the above is to cut your cloth accordingly and that means diminishing lower budgets. Football is all about the money, try cutting corners to pay the 'bank' and it will bite you on the arse.

I took a different view at the time. I genuinely believed that nobody in their right minds would pay €6mill for a 3rd tier football club without its own ground and without too many saleable playing assets without a plan to get the club into the Championship where somebody else might well pay more for the club. When that was reinforced by Rahic saying they wanted to have our own development squad who would become the stars of the future, I genuinely believed that they would have a plan to invest in these youngsters and to improve the coaching side of the club. All of this would require investment by the owners and I had anticipated that the investment would be forthcoming to deliver on their and our dreams.

At the time, I never believed it was just a pipe dream and R&R really wanted to do it all on the cheap. Anybody with two brain cells who has been successful in business as Rupp has and as financially savvy as Rahic has made out could have spent a few hours looking at how other clubs have been promoted to the Championship in recent times and what its has required from the owners with additional short term investment. There's a list - Sheffield, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn, PNE, Millwall, Rotherham, MKD, Barnsley, Brizzles - who in recent times have been promoted and have done so because of their owners personal financial commitment to their clubs. How else would R&R expect it to be delivered?

But no, none of this has really happened. R&R have a very different view on how to run a promotion seeking football club from most other successful owners and it's barely different from the ML&JR approach. And we are now faced with the reality of the R&R approach, ie trying to do it on the cheap. For all sorts of reasons, we face an uncertain future. If recent results continue until the transfer window opens, we could be 12 or even 15 points adrift from the safety zone and with half a season to go at that point, that's an almighty deficit to overcome.

At least by putting everything into the first team budget, ML & JR listened to the manager and gave him the best chance.

Parky then paid them back several times over.
