Id argue pressure is on the board not McCall, if we lose tonight he can quite easily turn around to them and say he’s not been backed in the search for a striker and RB.

Fans need to wake up and really start demanding more now. I keep telling you all this.

This not good enough! We all knew the squad was poor before we even kicked a ball this season!

    Disappointing.

A very good manager Appleton. I wanted him when we got Bowyer way back in league one days.

Again, agree, we have gone backwards at an alarming rate since Rupp and Rahic rode into town. A succession of poor managerial appointments and a joke of a recruitment policy too.

Covid has given me a reason not to renew my season ticket this season for the first time in over 50 years. I am genuinely worried that my appetite will be lost for more than 1 year the way things are going.

I worry about McCall this season I really do.

That fans forum was a concern and how he's been talking recently worries me.

Have to agree. In a post in the Bolton thread, I asked a question of Roger. Now I appreciate the thread was closed by SB but he had his views of Bolton. Roger what about us, your CLUB?

SO I ask the same question again?

He talked again but Rupp talks a lot but his actions have ultimately led to the football club regressing. He has FAILED at this club and as we all could see yesterday, this team looks short in a number of positions, lack pace and a manager, with a CV that is not exactly pulling up any tree's.

But we have finance available, allegedly, good job these were used sensibly prior to the season to ensure pace (DMH), penatration (Clarke) and a right back (Sutton-suspended).

Just 3 examples of the players whom we have signed under the failure of Rupp. I wish him no harm in life, a prosperous one tbh but at Bradford City, I have no time for him. A failure.

Roger you can draw reference to the programme notes and potential extra finance, you can question the situation at Bolton but let's fail to address, that this club regresses under Rupp. Of course, you'll know the man so I don't expect you to comment subjectively on his tenure at this football club but I am sure that our own issues are of great concern, nevermind that of Bolton.

It’s rotten from top to bottom pal, has been for a few years now. What’s the point in replacing one puppet with another. Change needs to come from the top.

I think the problem is without signings most can already see we won’t be contenders for promotion. We don’t need to wait until January to see that.
We need to be proactive as a club for a change. We are always reactive and we look a shambles for it.
Our main strikers go, we get no one and then panic on deadline day and get two donkeys in who no one wanted.
We won’t let our main forward go without significant compensation. Two weeks later we pay him to go to our main rivals in our “promotion bid”. Not only that 6 weeks later we still haven’t even replaced him. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a replacement in the same time we announce vaughan has gone? It shows the fans we have our plan. Now we have our manager running to Parker saying we haven’t even got our 4th choice in the market. It’s just embarrassing.
We’ve gone from not agreeing with the cap and not wanting it to curb our spending to now being allegedly 400k under it.

a lot needs to change and nothing is. We never have a plan. We never move any part of the club forward be it off the field or on it. We are still using a ticket deal thought up nearly a decade ago ffs. Someone needs to come in and grab it by the bollocks and drag it into the 21st century as a club. Sadly we are no where near that currently and it will get worse before it gets better under this owner. If it ever gets better.

So no. We don’t need to wait until January

    Immediate rhoughts on tonights game...

We are now a long way behind even mid table league 1 which frankly is appalling given where we were.
BRE, however 'good' he looked at the start of last season is nowhere near the standard required.
I think I am quicker than AOC ( I am 41 and have dodgy ankles!)
3 at the back does not suit us, it negates Connor Wood's threat as an overlapping fullback (which is one of, if not our only attacking threats) and we have nobody to play on as a right wing back.
Whatever the question is Dylan Mottley-Henry is not the answer.
    Donaldson is done.
    Creativity is a big issue.
The lack of pace in our side is almost as alarming as the the fact that no manager has noticed or addressed our lack of pace in the last 3 years.
And just in case nobody else has noticed (!) we need huge intervention upfront!!

I am usually someone who tries to pick the positives but it is becoming more and more difficult.

Or a single league win, for balance.

As for "9th at worst", there's plenty on here who would snatch your hand off for that right now.

We shouldn't have to be fixing fundamental problem a couple of weeks into season that should have been dealt with weeks, even months ago. Its the same pattern every time, reactive rather than proactive, burying our heads in the sand while expecting the kids to save us.

Some good probing questions from the Radio Leeds reporter, not put off by McCall's defensive stance, especially over recruitment

There are still plenty of free agent options, and loan options out there. He needs an honest, critical look at his squad. We need a centre back, right back, winger and striker. 4 signings. That’s very, very do-able. The players will have the day off tomorrow, he and Kenny need to spend the day having a proper, exhaustive look at who’s out there, getting on the phone, speaking to agents, tapping up their contacts.

I understand that finding a quality striker isn’t easy. But finding a reliable league 2 centre back, a steady right back and maybe a young winger on loan, shouldn’t be rocket science.

That match was awfully disappointing. Game over really in the first 6 minutes. Ahaha sort of have to laugh, it was one of the worst performances I’ve seen.

My wee lads first match he’s actually sat down and watched with me, couldn’t bare to put him through it all so turned off the game at 60 minutes in and stuck some cartoons on for him.

Its a league one club for starters. Easy sell for first team and potential promotion contenders. Im sick and tired of the entitlement that runs this club rotten. We have a wage cap now so we cant spend the league either. I dont understand where all these idiots keep refusing to believe what the higher ups are saying. As if its a ploy or a scheme for the club to be where it is. No ambition as a L2 club what on earth do people expect??

The reason why he was so salty was because of people like you. Making out that everything that comes out of his mouth isnt true or is stupidity on his part. For shame.

I think he does need some help yes. The structure of the club above McCall isn't there. We have an owner who is in another country and has very little interest and then Rhodes who is tasked with keeping the books clean.
Who is McCall going to for the sign off on transfers? Who's going games and watching these potential youngsters that he keeps talking about?
McCall was talking about waiting for clubs higher up to start letting players go out on loan. Its rubbish!! Ive had a look this morning. 14 clubs so far in league 2 have loaned players from either the Premier League or the Championship. 14! Its not good enough.

BL is right in his comment but to then allow the manager to bring in two new strikers only to sack him a week or so later is an act utter lunacy. Caused by having no overview of the club from above the manager, the Vaughan situation was allowed to get an untenable point, good directorship would never have allowed the situation get to that stage. We're still suffering for the mismanagement now leaving us with an unbalanced strike force.
