Lincoln are a fairly decent side but if we have any ambitions for promotion we should be looking for a close match really. When we got promoted from league 2 before we adjusted immediately to life in league one. I don’t think there is much difference in quality and maybe less so now with the salary cap. The difference might show I the top 4 Or so teams but even then.
We should be having a real go tonight. Some talk on here like it’s Brazil 1970 we are playing

I didn't think he played that well on Sat. Got done too easily and was forced into making a rash challenge early on resulting in a yellow. Later on in the first half he was completely done inside the box by Brown from which Poku should've scored. He also lost the ball a couple of times when he really shouldn't have resulting in counters. Against Bolton he was mostly at fault for the goal, jumping in and allowing Delfounso past him (more at fault than AOC imo).
Now, that said, I do think overall he has had a very positive first few games and I hope he can continue to progress. He does look like the most comfortable on the ball of all our defenders, however if it was AOC / BRE playing the way he played no one would've called them MotM performances

 

My lack of appetite for this sanitised season of football leads me to not giving a flying one about any game this season.

 

Youngsters benefit from a break from the side. Go through some bits with them in training and then re-introduce them

Id argue pressure is on the board not McCall, if we lose tonight he can quite easily turn around to them and say he’s not been backed in the search for a striker and RB.

When you know the next game will be a dream tie for certain then it brings pressure. Same will apply for Lincoln.

I agree. But I think without turning on them the fans will blame Rhodes and Rupp anyway, the lack of activity is there for all to see.

I think McCall has to be here for at least a couple of years. Not just because we need some continue, but given that we clearly have no ambition to take the club forward, having someone who 'gets' the club, is a capable coach and is likely very good with our younger players, we'd be daft to make a change in the near to medium future.

 

Yep, that's implying that we have the squad to challenge.

Sacrificed going forward freely? When was the last time you watched City? If we've tightened up and are keeping possession more I suppose that is at least something to build on, as for going forward freely, that is pretty much a distant memory, hit and hope , certainly under Bowyer.
