One of the best interviews i've heard, good probing questions and a manager bristling with agression leads to a must listen interview. I thought McCalls views on the first half were spot on, his views on the second were well off. Seems unusually under pressure for so early in the season. Like his passion but seemed way too defensive when questioned about transfers.

Zero goals in three games. If Stuart says he's happy with the strikers at this club he's taking the piss out of us.

the problem is, at the start of every season fans are looking for something to give them optimism for the season ahead.. barring bringing in Watt and Sutton, the squad is made up of players that weren't good enough last season and is arguably weaker than last season's squad. we could all see with performances towards the end of the season that the players weren't good enough. what have the club done to rectify that?

all we have been fed for the past 6 months is how we are active, looking to improve the squad whilst also being told that we're well below the salary cap, that it's a buyer's market as there are over 1400 players out of contract. then the club changed stance and said that it's hard to work within the cap and that "we'll see what crops up."

it's not good enough from top to bottom and that includes Rhodes, Rupp and McCall. the aim of every transfer is to come out of it stronger than the previous one - we haven't and it's clear to see that we're now panicking.. and that's never a good place to be.

I still believe this game is going to pens.

Mind you I still believe in Santa, the tooth fairy and that @Fordy117@Fordy117 is a successful businessman.

Passion and pride are what I expect players to show on the pitch. McCall had both in spades when he was a player. That's one of the reasons he'll always be one of the City greats for me. But it's not something which counts much as a successful manager. SMc's job is to either instill that passion and pride in his players or bring in players who have it.

But probably more important for a manager is to have the skills to prepare the team properly, to get the right balance, to do his job in recruiting the right type and mix of players and to understand where the deficiencies are in the squad. And then to blend all of that together with the right preparation, the right tactics, formation and gameplan. Passion isn't a pre-requisite for any of that. It's simply about being a manager and focusing on what's important to get the result. That's where we confuse Stuart the player with Stuart the manager.

I know all that but thank you for being so gracious in answering.

So from those days in 2018, what has changed your viewpoint, to a near opposite stance today in which you use the word 'dramatic' when Fordy (and others) question/want rid of Rupp and you say " but Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup isn't the end of Rupp's tenure, is it?"

If you was to answer, which is your choice, I'll remind you of the words of Rupp when he rid Rahic....

"The time for change has come and this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club," said Rupp in a statement on Bradford's website. "The people of Bradford deserve much, much better.

"I will do everything in my power to wash away the dreadful memories of the last 12 months and consign them to the history books for good.

So what has changed your viewpoint Jon so much since November 2018?

Has this chapter evolved? Have the people of Bradford received 'much better' Has Rupp consigned the dreadful memories to the history books?

It ain't about tonight. That would be kneejerk. It's about 4 years. Regression, relegation, high staff turnover, dwindling support base...

We've been a re-active club since Parky left in June 2016 & have been on the back foot ever since.

I thought it was a good interview from the Radio Leeds interviewer. And he certainly got under SMc's skin at times.

It was interesting what SMc said about possible PL loanees. Our approaches seem to have resulted in a not just yet response and we might get back to you. But only a minute earlier he had been praising the two PL loanees in the Lincoln team. Didn't it make him question why Lincoln had been successful in attracting PL loanees and we couldn't do that? It did me!

Wholeheartedly disagree that it was a “shocking interview”. I for one liked the passion that came across. He clearly won’t stand for any more crap.

Some of our fans are very contradictory I have to say. Last year we had people complaining at “bland Bowyer”, and now we have people complaining at a manager showing passion. What do fans want? You can’t have it both ways.

McCall properly rattled with those transfer questions.

Sounds to me like he's run out of ideas after his four options turned us down and is now panicking because he knows our three are shite.

Maybe changing your back 5 every single match doesn’t work eh?

The only silver lining is that this may stop the ridiculously laid back attitude to the obvious strengthening that's needed.

Tbf, even if they do now realise, I have zero faith in our competence to identify and recruit quality players.

I'm at the mindset Bowyer didn't know them forwards were coming in.

I think Rhodes and Ryan signed them...Maybe McCall in the background but not Bowyer as it makes no sense.

That back 5 today (french aside) were an absolute disgrace all year last year and some of them the year before. For some ridiculous reason we've kept all of them (likely money) and even made the keeper captain. Its absolutely awful and should be ripped apart now

I know I will upset the McCall lovers and especially the Width of a post crowd who love him, but I don’t want to hear our manager telling everyone we were triffic in training and our strikers will all get double figures, it’s totally boll**cks. We need a professional manager like Danny Cowley who I am sure would not have brought Mottley Henry back after releasing him. We’re just wasting time until another inevitable parting. When Bowyer was sacked Nathan Jones was available before he went back to Luton but we have to give Stu another go.
