Level Of Optimism For The Rest Of Season

Ugh! I hope the local ale was good.

 

Was a good day out. The pubs in town were class. Think everyone accepted relegation that day and it was quite the party in the pub around the corner from the ground. Loads of City fans in the pub when we left the ground and there was just shots and drinks ready to have. It was like everyone was just laughing and joking how poor a team we were and just thought balls to it. We've travelled this far we might as well make a good day of it.

 

Like @The Original EB says Simon Parker is a Portsmouth fan. He might as well be on the Bradford City payroll though. He's a joke! If he was working for the Pompey paper and the club was going through dark times then he wouldn't the pu&sy footing around like he does. In fairness to him he's doing his job to pay the bills but doesn't care enough like any fan on here. If Bradford City are in the National League he will be in a job and that's all he cares about.

As for Man City, yes they might have sold cheap tickets back in the day but one thing their always did is show ambition and made out the club can be bigger than that it is(same as Leeds, Sheff Utd, Sunderland and even Wigan. Unfortunately for City it seems they're still doing it but on another level that's seems to have got them in trouble) Bradford City have a negative view towards everything training ground, stadium, players everything.. that's not going to attact people to the club but maybe that's what they want. Be cheap, fans have no ambition/set of losers and they will accept anything, so we do nothing!

I'm not making suggestions but what I would say under Rhodes we go nowhere.. his methods are dated and believe it or not he isn't helping the club move forward.

Edin knew the pressure will come on the owners keeping McCall, so I only hope that McCall gets the results because if not I think a lot of City fans will wake up and it could turn nasty and not towards McCall.

I remember the occasion David Markham upset the then board (I think Jack Tordoff was owner) and he banned him from travelling on the team coach.
There was a fans forum where the two players we were hoping to sign got brought up, needless to say even back in those days the club didn't want to speculate to accumulate, Jack commenting we were good enough to get promotion without the two players who were mentioned.
But if nothing else on the night Jack took his axe out of Dave Markhams head and allowed him to start travelling with the players on the coach once more.

 

And still is, what he doesn't know about Bradford City is not worth knowing, a real nice genuine man.

 

In that very last sentence is part of the problem. We will blame everyone and anyone but McCall will be blameless. One of the reasons I would not have appointed him.

You only need to look at what's happening at Man UTD. They're failing, have a fans fav in change and now all eyes point at the owner and CEO.

Man UTD fans are the only fans that think Ole is a good manager. When in truth he's utter sh&te.

 

Try any of the WHU fans forums, plenty of candidates there.

 

I think most fans accept why Stuart got the job, it's been done to death, but taking yet another manager on after the process of elimination could have taken weeks the less chance of him getting us into a play off place.
I'm not sure Rupp would have been happy with that and I'm sure unless it was an outstanding appointment most fans wouldn't have been, we know there are no guarentees with regards managers. Imagine if the new guy ( and it might apply to McCall) couldn't get a squad good enough to take us up next season even with cheap tickets next season would test the loyalty of a large amount of fans.

Bronco. I know you are right but I find it hard to let go as I fervently believe it to be a poor, rushed, illconceived appointment.

 

You may be right, but the necessity of the situation was paramount, for the reasons I posted.
It had to be a quick fix with fingers crossed that McCall could turn our recent form and performances around, we'll have a pretty good idea within the next month or so.

 

This is the last season you can do it that quickly

 

Think if we lose of Saturday then we have no chance myself of play offs myself.

 

It certainly won't make it any easier, we have to break our away form, it's all about what Bradford City can do rather than hoping Newport are knackered after Wednesday night's game that went to penalties, or that Newport have a few injuries, Stuart has to throw caution to the wind and get a win.

 

Our season ticket campaign must have been failing. I reckon we were on for 8-9k renewing under Boreyer next year. All of a sudden you can add another 4k onto that now Stuart is here - possible closer to 14k-15k if we have a good end to the season.

 

Wouldn't go as high now.

Selling Doyle and letting Vaughan go out on loan then getting McCall was a mistake... it's like Yeah McCall is back! ... he's not a miracle worker, what do expect him to do with that strike force and Guthrie? Div 2 it is.... Can I really be bothered watching div 2 sh@te and players like Guthrie.... hmmm NO!

Think we will be looking at around 12k unless we do manage to go up which is about 2k more than we would of got under Bowyer.
