We're not messing about in clearing out the dross. Fair play. The first time we've acted strongly in the market for a long time. Hopefully a pre-cursor to another striker coming in too....

Don’t know or care if it’s Ryan, Turnbull or the coaches but they’re doing a job in getting rid of deadwood this window. Hopefully this means another new striker in .

Excellent news and good to see us being ruthless with the dross.

Wonder if this being confirmed means we're going to see a striker being confirmed shortly.

Every outgoing so far has been, at most, a day before their replacement is signed so hopefully a more established striker is imminent.

Goodbye Kurtis, we hardly knew ye.

Actually, we knew ye all too well...

I forget who he replaced, was it 28 goal Doyle or top scorer Vaughan? Either way, he outlined the dangers of not doing your research. ..

It seems Rupp is backing Sparks by funding the contract cancellations , writing off whatever fee Rhodes decided to hand over to Stevenage and funding the fee for Canavan. I wonder if he’s in this for the long haul or trying to get the club in a good position to sell?

In regards to Guthrie, good luck and thanks for nothing. How he’s lined up another club I’ll never know. Someone hasn’t done their homework...

Fantastic news well done to all concerned.
I wish him well but I'm not sorry he's departed.
Far from been a fans favourite he won't be missed.

Hard to believe he was here for a year. DMH next please. We're long overdue a good deck clearing.

Must say I had my doubts about Sparks but he's doing a cracking job so far, as are our management duo. What a refreshing change from recent years.

You have to wonder what's changed from the passivity of the last 18-24 months and the current proactive cancelling of contracts and quick and early transfer activity.

And no matter what reservations we have, the only plausible change is Sparks.

I imagine Rupp would have been just as willing to back us like this under Rhodes, but Rhodes and McCall were in it for the 'youngest and cheapest' - Sparks is taking more risks, and no doubt if he spends a bomb like Rahic did, his job will be on the line. But from a purely financial point of view, it's hard to deny that Rupp is in the game.

On balance, I would ask Rupp to leave and cut his losses; a buyer would not be impossible to find - but Rhodes is looking like a fool at the moment, he and Stuart got the blueprints all wrong, and Sparks now needs to find the balance between the idiotic Rahic and the overly frugal and failing Rhodes.

That is a good way of doing business, get the unwanted out the door and replaced and not with just a youthful loan player either.
Keeps the squad size to its limit but will not leave City short when starters get injured as they are still in a relegation dogfight and cannot afford to be lightweight in numbers.
