It would be interesting to know how much he actually cost us? Original transfer fee and what (if any) offers were on the table in the summer.

 

It frees up space in the squad and on the wage bill. without restrictions we would have probably kept him

 

Whats changed? The very ryde awakening that our current way of working and trajectory would see this club out of the professional leagues, coupled with most of even the clubs staunchest 'Rose tinted' supporters turning on the management of the club.

No idea why any club would want to sign a striker that hasn't scored for so long... How do these players remain in employment?!

 

I'm not sure who is deserving of the credit, whether it be Turnbull, Sparks or the Interim duo but fair play.

I still think we are a couple of experienced additions short of this being a great window, but there is plenty of time.

Strange how they appear to be doing what the vast majority on here had pointed out for a long time, it just shows that the purse strings were not being tightened by Rupp but more by Rhodes or McCall's inability to judge a player.

 

They wouldn't have signed him if we hadn't paid his contract up. He's only signed to the end of the season on what I'm guessing is more or less a try before you buy kind of deal. He's got his cash from us, Vale will be paying him peanuts, possibly literally (or whatever his favourite alternative savoury snack is).

 

He'll get a hat trick on Saturday, nailed on!

No sure this is true as it seems the players have new clubs straight away which makes me think we are spinning the PR story to make out we are letting them go.

Either way Guthrie needed to go. What do you think @Park bantam ? Didn't you rate him?

 

Of course they are only going to leave if they have a club to go to. City are making it plain that they don’t figure in their plans and won’t be getting games. As for Guthrie he seems to have an attitude problem but I don’t think he is as bad as some make out he has scored goals in the+past and probably will again

 

I’m inclined to agree with Park Bantam, which could be a first! Guthrie arrived at a strange time for the club (drifting) and has been part of a team that we’re low on confidence. He might do OK elsewhere.

 

Port Vale were one of those in for him, apparently.
