I’m bad tempered and cranky because I don’t buy into the “I’m sorry to see a (shite) player leave because he gave his all”.

Hopkin has clearly agreed to this move so I’d rather take his opinion of the boy that you. Even if that does make me “curmudgeon”....!

Likeablily - 80%
Ability - 40%
Prospect 45%

Great news, wish Kai all the best and thanks for his efforts, but I'm thrilled to see Hopkin getting rid of the dead wood in the squad.

I’d agree and his football ability has come on leaps and bounds since he made his debut for us. I’d have liked to have seen him continue to improve with us but if he’s got a decent opportunity lined up in Germany then I can’t blame him and wish him all the best

Problem is, of those 5 or so released, we have probably saved about 3k between them. Its the wasters/senior pro's who are doing nothing that are costing us the most and most likely will be the hardest to ship out

 

I have said several times in the past on this board. He might not be good enough but he doesn't pick the team, so our managers at least must have thought he was the best of what we had. So he came on and although out of his depth never shirked it and chased lost causes. That's why most on here wish him well and have fond memories......apart from a couple of miserable feckers

Yes, I did mean footballing intelligence. I’ve no doubt he is an intellectual, but his football ‘nounce’ was poor. He is a reactive player rather than being proactive and being slow, the attack had gone before he realised he had a chance.....!

 

If it means that we've got better coming in then great - no one is seriously suggesting that Kai was the answer to our striking needs. But the guy had chutzpah and tried his best for us, unlike others, so he endeared himself to many, even if he wasn't good enough beyond a limited role as a battering ram. He deserves a gracious send off.
