Yes, Jon. It's all about that big stepping up ......... As Patrick is finding out.
I remember James Hansons first few games, not to mention our very own 'lightweight' McBurnie.
Stepping up and adjusting takes different players a different length of time, which you already know, so I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, there. The thought is that some fans are more patient than others, and so long as Bruenker continues to improve, I for one will support the lad, 100%. :)

Good interview. Of course he is only half baked, but he shows a willingness to learn, enthusiasm and commitment to his own development and the team. However, what saw last week he has improved, and he looks like there is more to come.

I'll support him too, but I'm certain he's not good enough to make it. My opinion. Not everybody is capable of making it, and strikers will be judged on goals.

If he scores 5 goals in his entire City career, I'll donate 20 quid to The Burns Unit.

I would hope or anticipate 2 or 3. But I'm more interested in how soon he opens his 'account' next season.

Jon. Well seeing as we are being so prolific maybe a dozen before the end of the season. How many do you think Wyke has / will score in 2018

Wyke cost £250K and is probably on 3 times the wages. I'm not looking for an argument but I thought he did a decent job against a good defence v Shrewsbury and some folk are writing him off already

I hope the lad gets used to the English game and establishes himself as a Bradford City forward.
If not, then we've learned a lesson on recruitment level.

    Good luck Kai.

and SG must have seen enough in him to start him ahead of Poleon, Patrick, Jones et al

That is certainly a fair question to ask, not sure of the present situation with regards Jones but if he could continue to perform as he did against Shrewsbury he will stay first choice before Patrick or Poleon I would think.

Of all our German staff he's the one that I'm most confident in. Make of that what you will.

I like him; if everyone else had as much effort in as he has, we'd be higher up the table.

If he improves as much again, as he did from his debut to the Shrewsbury game, then we'll have a very good player on our hands. Of course, the Shrewsbury game might be his limit. Time will tell.

In the meantime, whilst he puts in the effort, let's encourage him and see how far he can go.

Kai's not a prolific goal scorer, but (I assume) he's cheap, puts in 100% and shares the physical burden with Wyke. Hanson had to do it on his own a lot of the time without much cover and injuries occurred. I believe Wyke has had a couple of back issues and what not, but its bound to happen when you have to solo battle two CB for 90 mins.

So I'll gladly watch big Kai bundle a couple of defenders about and do the physical side...just as long as someone else does the scoring.

I'd prefer if we signed someone with some degree of footballing ability rather than just play him because he's a big unit.

I'm pretty sure Big Al from the Star would be cheaper and he'd be brilliant at the physical side.

Seriously Ricc do you really think he is that bad. I think he is a bit of a headless chicken at times but his touch and pace aren't bad for a big bloke. I ask again why do you think SG started him in front of our other so-called strikers.

because he shows more heart and passion than the rest put together.

sadly heart and desire alone doesn't a good footballer make.

Did you actually watch the Shrewsbury game? He had far more than that. Whether or not he can perform consistently or that was as good as it gets is another matter. You do realise we cannot afford Championship class, proven centre-forwards

I know it's been lean times, but effort is an absolute bare minimum I expect from a player.

We need to look at his qualities rather than his work rate when it comes to the longevity of his City career.

Let's be fair @JonButterfield@JonButterfield the team giving a little "work rate" would have been better than they have shown recently.
I thought Kai was in the top three performers last Thursday night along side Guy and Deing.

It was a pleasure to see him pick up the ball with the intention of going forward. A good pre-season to work on fitness and game time now to form an understanding with Wyke and there could be a good partnership there for the future. There’s room for improvement and I think he has it in him to do it and more importantly, he wants to.
