That's EXACTLY what you're doing by solely blaming GR and absolving Julian of the blame.

Richmond sold us the dream and he delivered on it. More than our fans could ever dream of in fact.
We will never get back to the premier league again in our life time. I just wish I was older at the time to appreciate it more.
He made mistakes but up to that summer of madness every decision he took worked.

Lawn again did a great job really to be fair. Not on a similar scale as Richmond at all but he used cheap tickets and found a good manager. And the majority of money he put into the club he got back. Fair play
He deserved it. But he would always back the manager with a good budget. Even Stuart back in the day. Big budgets at the time were unheard of.
I imagine if we got to championship we may have invested more in infrastructure and we were so close under Lawn.

The only way under Rhodes has been down. He balances the books and doesn’t care the expense on the pitch. He’s not an owner or CEO who understands the modern game. Relegation after relegation show that before lawn came in. And so far it’s only been down with him as acting CEO. Rupp May be happy as we are not spending as much but in the long run his anticipated return will only dwindle with Rhodes at the helm.

Not every new chairman has to be a rahic for example. There is plenty of good owners out there who take an active interest in the club.

Perhaps you should have spoken to Geoffrey Richmond to get a more balanced view though?

Your discussions and evaluation on the subject seem a little one sided.

I did have the odd discussion with Geoffrey. It was his vision and risk taking that delivered the Premiership, Europe and financial meltdown. I still struggle to make my mind up whether, with hindsight, I would have bought into it, but it was one hell of a ride.

As this was a thread about Julian Rhodes, my previous comments were focused on him. It just seems to me that far too often people's views tend to polarise to one extreme or the other when, if truth be known, things are usually far more complex than that.

Absolutely not. Without doubt Geoffery was the main driver of City's move up to, and time in, the Premier League, but he should not solely take the praise for that, nor solely the blame for what happened afterwards.

Never got to speak to Gordon Gibb. It certainly would be interesting to get his input into what went on.

I heard a little while ago (3-4 years) that he was involved with some taxi company in Leeds, but that they had ceased trading.

Unfortunately we have a mute owner and CEO, but that's always been the case.
Hence why we have YTS boy Sparks as the mouthpiece

Clueless, utterly clueless. Suffocating our club into the abyss. 3 years ago we were knocking on the door of the Championship, now look at us.

The dream team? Baldwin and a consortium, can't see him leaving EFL so soon but would be interesting.

The new CEO who went to another job was believed to have being Baldwin
According to Sparks from the FF Rhodes is actively searching for his replacement
But if it's anything like our striker search it will be next season when his replacement is found
