Sounds like Akpan and Wright at the beginning of the season. The former though under Mr Hopkin appears to have rectified this when in the team.

Doesnt make it at a PL club, drops down a bit, has a sudden impact, lots of interest, gets big headed again, injuries, staring at no contract, suddenly realises he needs to get his act sorted and promises DH he's up for it.

One thing we do know, he won't get an easy ride here, if he doesn't get stuck in he may as well pop round Joe or Alex's house at the weekend.

 

It's a shame we don't play Rochdale away again could join in with the yoof.

Turning around wasted talent rarely happens. Probably even less so in a relegation fight.

 

He has a lot of experience at this level foe a 22 year old. He has had a lot of injuries and needs to stay fit to get a run of form going

 

Theres always a first for everything but i completely agree it very rarely happens. The alarm bells start ringing when people mention ‘talent’, i remember hearing the very same sort of remarks about Billy Knott and Jake Reeves. All seems to point in one direction but lets see what he conjures up till the end of the season.

 

Ok, reports not good, and more especially as he needs to work hard to get in the team. However, he gets a clean slate when he starts here. If he produces the same sort of form, well at least we haven’t wasted loads of money.

This is his last chance, he needs to take it.

Anyone we sign on a short term contract for no money is going to have had issues at this level I suppose.

Pretty much how I see it, injuries and lack of games at Donny made him disillusioned, perhaps he work ethic went pearsgaped.
DH will have told him in no uncertain terms of his expectations in terms of attitude.
Ball's in his court, graft and we're all behind him.

 

Fact is in January these are the sort of players you have to go for, especially in our position.
We have to find players undervalued by other clubs that might be useful to us.
Going after 'big name' signings is very rarely the way forward (how many can you name that have actually worked out - Wyke?). We've signed a few cast offs over the years that have gone on to do well for us, hopefully this is another one.
Good luck Mr. Anderson, you've got a chance here to rebuild a career.

 

Interesting that even though McCann has not held on to him beyond January, he thought enough of him to get him in on loan in the first place. He worked with him at Posh so must have seen something he liked.

Where does this lad play? In the centre - what type of player? I've never seen him before. Will be interesting who he's gonna replace.Or is he going to sit on the bench and lose his mojo even more?

In fairness to the lad I don't remember the large queues for Caddis, JoB or Henry when they signed. It's up to him to show he wants to fight for his career. If he's laissez faire there's enough examples around the place of what will happen next.

 

Quite pleased with this one, based on how well he did for me on football manager 2016 for City!

To be honest I thought he was older than 22, he seems to have been around for a few year, especially at Posh

Interesting re Jermaine and Paudie - DH indicated he really wanted a couple of players in who would be an immediate improvement on the team and a couple who would add to his squad options. My immediate reaction is these 2 are more the latter than straight into the team, so I guess Surridge (or similar) and 1 other are still on the cards?
