Jermaine anderson confirmed

Doncaster didn’t want him and neither did Peteborough so effectively he was a free agent. I’d like to think there could be a career here for him at Valley Parade but i know very little about the lad. For the positives he can’t be any worse than Josh Wright.

 

I think that’s the key. He must have some ability to represent England at various youth levels. Maybe the factors that have seem him go off track are things that Hopkin and team have discussed and few can be rectified. It seems a low risk, short term deal so I don’t have a problem with it.

However - if this is the only midfield addition we make, then I think we have a problem

He had Tonge, Brown and Jagielka playing in midfield with him there though and able to do a lot of the running - it was very different circumstances to the players he had around him at the time at VP.

 

Why not sign players to do the same job? Just needed runners.

Let's give him a chance, seems his early potential has been hampered by injuries. Only a short contract so easy get rid if he's no good and hopefully will force him to prove himself quickly. Shouldn't judge solely by comments from fans of previous clubs but they're really not great!

Fingers crossed he can prove his doubters wrong.

 

I quite like this signing as he seems to have something to prove and his previous manager's comments will hopefully spur that on further.

Hopkin has brought in the right players so far so if he thinks he can get the best out of Anderson then lets wait and see. Hopkin seems to demand a specific work ethic which we've seen some players respond to and the ones that haven't are nowhere near the side so hopefully Anderson signs up to that and can show some of his talent. And after all, its much needed numbers in midfield.

How many on here have actually seen him play, or remember him when they did? Point being i trust DH. Wait till the window closes and when Anderson actually plays, then make a judgement one where we’re at.

 

And if we fail to do this and get relegated? I'm very much of the opinion Rupp is still in need of convincing about next season and we're thinking short term atm.

 

I'm prepared to trust DH to get the best out of him so here's hoping, but not many players who come with a bad review from opposing fans turn out good.

 

TBF, Riley came at a similar age and, whilst had did make his debut, a few appearances in total, shows that some youngsters get left behind

 

We have shown the form (Except Barnsley) that we can pull away and finish around mid table so its time to build on that short term thinking should be to ensure survival surely
Agree with you Mr Rupp who incidentally agreed to back us in January is far from convinced of this even with his limited knowledge of the game.

 

Riley had made his debut at Manchester United, i think he played a couple of cup games. Honestly i don’t know of one player who hasn’t made a debut until 22 years old but i could well be wrong.

A strange signing is Anderson ............... Is he really what City need right now ??

His recent (12 month period) activity doesn't make for good reading - and will he be any better than Gibson, who we've just shipped out on loan ??

Time will tell, and his contribution, moreso ......... We will wait and see.
Firstly ........... He needs to convince on the training pitches, and then back that up on the field of competitive games.

I won't condemn him yet, but nor will I suggest he is the 'next coming'.
