As soon as Sutton came on at Barrow he looked dead on his feet, obviously one of the players who had tested positive for covid. This is probably the only game where the players have an excuse for dropping off the pace as the game's progressed.

We did play long ball with Reid and Thompson the latter was like a secondary target man. It’s very difficult playing through midfield when outnumbered. That’s why 442 with wingers is outdated in a%lot of managers eyes

I always judge for myself. I remember us paying £650,000? for the John McGinley who came here with good stats and reputation. He didn't work out did he? Doyle, Tony Adcock etc. Let's see him on the pitch before judging him.

Looking at those clips we now have a wide player who can cross from the left which will suit the strikers.

Given the lack of assists in his stats, can only assume he is used to passing to players who can't finish.

Ridehalgh has been putting in quality crosses into the box from the left most of the season, just our incompetent forward players who don't get on the end of them.

More importantly, have we ever signed anybody who has turned out to be

    "Exciting"
    "Highly regarded"
    "Sought after"

    "Not too often!"

Certainly the type of player we need, let's hope he backs it up on the pitch.

I still think we need an absolute minimum of 2 more signings to be in the squad for Carlisle.

For a club that got rid of its recruitment director in September and have been banging on about how important January will be since October, one would have thought that we'd have agreements in place ready to be announced come the 1st. A first loan signing on the 4th doesn't really scream out that we've been planning for January for months, as the fans have been led to believe. Anyway, the nigh is young, let's see what happens between now and Friday.

its been a bank holiday! Admin staff might not have been in at all clubs….

Don’t forget too, that january is often a domino effect and some players might not be released until a replacement for them arrives at the selling/loaning club.

so we might have done the donkey work, effectively arranged terms with a playet, but just need a green light to seal it?

I like it when clubs use the line ‘beat off stiff competition’. Reminds me of brass eye for some reason.

I love the selective memories of some. These boards used to be screaming about Parky's long ball tactics.

Wyke was a quality signing who has proved to be a quality L1 striker.

Christ! You're a patient person. Let's remember that some will want to keep big squads, due to Covid - so that's going to, if anything, delay things.

I don't remember Man United playing much long ball up to Giggs and Kanchelskis/Beckham.

So because Parky played long ball with a4 4 2, every manager in history has played long ball when using 4 4 2?

You don't half talk some rubbish.
