The other fella we signed has gone AWOL already, so I don't see how I or anyone can say he's a good signing or not.

 

To be honest with you I'm not bothered about the Charman signing. If we sign him, fine, give him a shot, if we don't, not too fussed overall.

I think the fact we don't know who we might bring in instead is the source of the frustration, actually.

Once we know, we might all be much happier than if we'd signed Charman.

Well he's a 29 year old in a similar mould to Angol.

Adams signed him last season for Morecambe, but he ended up breaking his leg.

Has hit form this season at Halifax and scored 10 in 25.

6'3, but like Angol better with his feet.

Once cost Blackburn a million quid, but never justified the price tag.

Could be his last shot in the EFL if anyone did sign him; also been linked with Walsall, apparently.

Someone has had a bid knocked back for Ollie Banks, and Barrow are keen to keep their best players.

If it was us, are we really likely to go back in with a higher bid given everything we've heard about sustainability and using whatever funds we generate?

Maybe the new sponsorship deal would cover the higher fee

I think we have hit the ground running transfers don’t just happen they have to be negotiated replacements found and so on sometimes you can’t get your first choice but two in and a third close just over a fortnight in is good going and shows preparation has taken place

 

From around the league, looks like Oldham, Rochdale and Mansfield are rumored to be looking at striker Montel Gibson, 24 year old has scored 19 so far for Stourbridge this season. Was on a non-contract which the player ended yesterday after contact with a L2 club.

Matt Smith, the former Leeds target man is leaving Millwall to join Salford. Looks like Bowyer is pushing Conor McAleny even further down the pecking order. McAleny has only started 6 games since mid September and has yet to complete 90 mins under Bowyer. Very strange form for someone who this time last year was one of the most in demand forwards in the league.

 

Actually, if you look at the majority of League Two deals, they are untried loans from higher up. Very few quality deals gone through and none stand out like an SPL regular dropping to L2.

McAleny has a lot of attributes, but is he really what we need at this point ? Walker looks to be just as good in pretty much the same position.

Someone said Thomas-Assante would be a good signing, but he's only scored 16 in 102 EFL games.
