What are we discussing Roger, me playing devils advocate. My first comments plainly states I was.

I said I AGREED with the sentiment, for new ownership, but I won’t waste my or anyone else’s time calling for something I , nor anyone else on this forum has any influence over, other than voting with our feet. As someone pointed earlier………..then what?

That’s the juxtaposition we all face, if Rupp decides any money’s offered is insufficient.

You honestly believe starving the club of money would help. He will just right it off as a business loss on his tax return!

 

I disagree. His investment is worth nothing in the National League.
Starve the club of money and he has to put money in to have a competitive budget or risk National League football.

There will become a point where the club is costing the owner too much money and the easiest thing to do is sell.

 

Hi FB. I'm not taking any sides in this argument but I am genuinely interested to know who the parties are that have made offers.

 

Because of NDA's we'll never know.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but clubs don't let proven goalscorers go for free in January. You can buy them due to demand for such a commodity being very high in the transfer window but as a rule no one gives them away. But as a club our remit from Rupp is to make sure he doesn't have to put any money in so how people thought we were going to come up with this magical goalscorer is beyond me.

The mistake was not buying quality in the summer. Robinson & Lavery were a shambles. Elliott and Delfouneso are more non scoring forwards.

Why didn't we just get a couple of quality forwards in the summer?

If the (many) budget rumours are to be believed a top 7 budget should give us a fair crack at promotion whilst being sustainable.
Extra revenue that comes from promotion would I’d estimate allow a middling and still sustainable budget at league 1 level.
It’s how the money is used and if you’ve a manager who can improve players-I would say ours has used poorly ( hello none 4 scoring strikers when we play 1 up top) and players being consistently poor and/or regressing
