Don't know why some people are so down on Kelly, hasn't put a foot wrong since he's come in the team recently, strong on the air, couple of assists, couple of game saving recovery tackles...

He'd fit right in. We'll have one player who has had a kidney transplant and another with an internal defibrillator.
The team doctor will be on commission.

Just imagine, 3 seasons ago we all took the piss out of Carlisle being a team full of City rejects (Gibson, Patrick, Joe Riley, Callum Guy, Kelvin Mellor, Danny Devine, Jamie Devitt!!) and look at us now. Really shows how shite the people running the club have been at the expense of the fans

This club is disjointed top to bottom

A decent keeper gone. Replaced with someone who hasn't had regular game time since Swansea City were a Premier League Club.

A backline thats a shambles. Kelly, Platt, Ridehalgh, Taylor. Not good enough. Tomkinson isn't our player. Halliday is out of contract at the end of the year. Stubbs is probably the best CB an he'l most likely be going this month. And Richards is half decent but always picks up injuries.

A Midfield that is one injury away from meltdown. Smallwood an Gilliead decent but nothing special. Walker always injured. Pattison never fully fit. Osadebe is dog shit. Mcdonald is past it.

A bunch of wingers who aren't good enough. Tulloch, Afoka (Ik one of them has been sent back but im making a point) Wilson, Odour. The two good ones, Chapman an Pointon, never get a game.

And a strike force which is about as reliable as a Peugeot 207. Cook whos either out of shape or in the form of his life but never gets decent service. Smith who's a good option to bring off the bench but not starter quality just yet. Oliver is pants. Derbyshire who is old as time an the second top scorer of the league being prepared to be sold to a team with ambition

A complete an utter shitshow, top to bottom

I think if Young is sold at this point onward, the money is going to be saved for the summer. The squad realistically needs at least 4 maybe 5 first team upgrades to consistently challenge this season, which will cost far more than Young will bring in.

We'll get a striker on loan from up the pyramid to cover until the end of the season and have the annual summer rebuild.

Cook, Walker, Vernam, Novak....all January additions that wernt half bad.

Its the same waffle every season though, give up, wait until the summer and rebuild! WASH - RINSE - REPEAT - I am sick to death of hearing it! The January window is an opportunity to put things right. I bought my season ticket for the season.

Stubbs has been poor for perhaps four matches this season - including his last two.

I'm puzzled why anyone would take the less skilled and a lot older Taylor over a player that still has to hit his peak.

It would be a big big error to let Stubbs go. We only need an injury and / or suspension to any two of the current and he'd needed, i.e. five centre halves is not a big issue if you're playing three at the back.

Got a great source on this and been told wages are a stumbling block. Wyke is actually up for a return.

Remember, the Teesside clan are all very pally and keep in touch. Wyke and Gilly are good pals. And Smallwood too I think.

my source won’t be the same as Bantamisback but I can backup what he is saying.

let’s hope we can find the money and make this happen!

Turns out signing Osadebe for a fee is a sackable offence!

Wrexham just signed Luke Bolton from Salford and Jack Marriott from Fleetwood, widely expected to sign Jamie Lindsay from Rotherham. Parky really pushing for promotion, it's what clubs aiming for promotion do.

Alot of people seem to have written McDonald off already. I personally think/hope he could still turn out to be a good signing for us, and be good cover for Smallwood who's now in great form.

There's the argument his legs have gone, but his season has been compromised so far- he missed any off-season training and preseason through injury. He did look off the pace on his return, but still showed flashes of on the ball quality. And then obviously he's barely played since he took over as manager.

He came with rave reviews from Exeter fans, so I'm hoping he's currently being worked hard on his fitness, ready for a big second half of the season.

What good is signing players and selling them on for profit if we still remain rooted in the khazi league?

Stockton is joining Barrow on loan for the rest of the season. In theory, a partnership of Stockton and Telford could do well at this level. Think i might retire from following this sport if Barrow gain two promotions in the time we've been back in L2.

To those who talk about how many chances Cook needs, his xG in the league is 8.5 goals and he's actually scored 11. Therefore he's massively outperforming based on how many he should have scored. That 15% shot conversion rate is shown up for being spurious as it proves he's not had that many "good" chances but has actually put away more than he should. I wish our whole scored performed so "poorly" as Cook.

I'm resigned to the idea that any transfer money raised this month will not be saved for the summer...... it's going to either go on balancing the books or go on the ST deficit when 2,000 - 3,000 fans don't renew.

And there lies the problem we have, 2 players missing and a massive squad can't provide the necessary cover - reason i continually say Gent has been mediocre at best.
We are desperate to reduce our numbers but improve the quality (as we were told was going to happen last summer!)

Look at the big picture though. Much easier to go into a rent renewal negotiation as a poor League 2 team than as a championship team.

    Imagine the cost savings.

So only a couple more years of this to go, and then with a significantly lower cost base, we'll remove the veil of idiocy, and unleash all hell on any teams that stand in our way to the Premier League.

It's a genius strategy. Books will be written about it.
