Although I cannot see too much activity, you should never stick. January presents a chance to improve even further and add to options, which we should pursue

 

Loaned out players don't count towards registration for the Squad List. We have 20 registered at the minute but yes Threlkeld is coming back, however we'd have to register him for him to be a headache which i cant imagine will happen.

To be fair, a senior midfielder is probably the only one i'd imagine we'd sign of an age unless we have to replace any outgoings. Another striker to take on Harratts bench gap will probably be needed but whoever comes in aren't getting ahead of Cook or Oliver as main back up, so probably a young lad on loan.

 

Bigrod if you're including all the players we have on loan as our players in getting to the 22 man squad, surely you shouldn't include the players we have loaned out. I appreciate you're saying Threlkeld is due back on 2nd January, but Kelleher is on loan for the season so shouldn't be included in the 22.

 

As much as we might look to bring in 1 or 2 I think as big a priority should be making sure we keep the players we do have. Out of the loan players I think there's a chance Crichlow, Banks and Wright could all be recalled especially the first 2 which would all be big losses if they were to leave.

 

We can sign one as Harratt has gone back. If Threlkeld comes back I suspect we will loan him out somewhere even lower or just terminate his contract.

 

We should be scouting potential replacements for the top loaners we have in case they return to there clubs Hopefully we are doing that now while making note of players we may want eventually

 

Loaned out players aren't included in your squad registration. The list is selected by the club, you don't have to register all players contracted over age, hence why Theo Robinson didn't play for 6 months before signing for us summer 2021. Vale had too many seniors and someone couldn't be registered so it was him, he didn't want a pay out so he didn't play for the rest of the season and just ran his deal out.

I imagine with Threlkeld it might be a similar situation where he's still under contract but probably dont register him if we are full up as i cant see many takers for him once he comes back.

 

With Threlkeld be best to pay him off and let him find a club and frees up a space

 

Thelkeld won’t be ours if we pay him off the rest of his contract June 2023 . So won’t cost much!

 

I think Foulds counts as a home grown player given his youth experience with us.

The rules have changed for this season, as long as they came through an FA affiliated club for 3 years prior to being 21 they count as a home grown player. Which most of our squad has as per @Fuzzy has

 

But Angol didn't get booked this Saturday, Jordan.
Songo'o, Cook, Oliver and Chapman got the yellows.

 

Read the rules again Rod. It says a club can "name" a set amount of players that are eligible to play, not that the squad can only contain a set amount.

We could have 30 on the books and simply not name a handful in the matchday squad so the limits won't stop us bringing someone in if it was required.

 

Biggest challenge wil be hanging onto the good ones.... Wright, Banks and Crichlow. If those three are here come 1st Feb ... brill. With the injured players returning do we replace Harratt?

 

Threlkeld is out of contact in June so we probably would just let him fester. Not been to any pub before a match for the last three matches. Certainly not going to the Rose n Crown. It smells and is full of undesirable types. Back on Saturday so if Sam's coming it will be the Clyde. If not will be the TFC
