    A mate of mine knew Syers well. Reckoned he was a better cricketer than footballer!! And that’s from a lad who was in Yorkshire’s academy for a couple of years in the 90’s.

    Those that are knocking players from non league look no further than Colby Bishop at Accy bought in from non league nuneaton 18 months ago and doing very well at the wham stadium.

    I heard the same. There was a story at one point that’s he wanted to play cricket over the summer and PP didn’t want him to.
    Also he was a very clever lad. Think he was a qualified or at least part qualified accountant. Football certainly wasn’t the be all and end all for him.

    Also he was a very clever lad. Think he was a qualified or at least part qualified accountant. Football certainly wasn’t the be all and end all for him.

    Shame that, I thought location might sway it for us, but the lure of league 1 football instead appears to have overridden that.

    We move on, hopefully other credible targets still in the pipeline, would hate a last minute panic buy in the mould of a Guthrie to turn up on the last day of the month
